You can't just change it to 128KB and resume gameplay, the game checks the flash as soon as it loads. You have to change it then restart, or change it before ever loading it.

Hint: If you get a message about the sub-circuit board being missing you might have a good ROM but you need to set 128KB. If you get some inane message about your mum eating children then you've got an already BADLY PATCHED ROM and you should find another.

I patched my rom and no errors reported till now.

Hmmm I still have a problem.
I used the patch and have Gpsp .07 and I changed the flash rom type to 128kb and when I try to save it says "save error has occured the backup memory is damaged".

Edit: Could it be my rom?
Could somebody that can save with their rom give it to me?

I cant even get FireRed to start on my psp, but Leafgreen works, havent tried saving it though

Valtera: Nope, sorry. Rom giving is illegal.

Anyways, Fire Red works perfect for me and no errors reported. The only complainable thing is that it doesn't have Real Time Clock support which cuts off the purpose of the Lotto game but anyways, the speed is good, game is lag-free even with Frame Skip set to 0 and the sound is awesome! I don't think I need anymore than that.

Well, it's really a rom problem not the emulator itself, you have to patch it with this IPS patch by IPSWIN or a simmilar utility.

I'm using Gbata to patch it would that make a difference or does it relly matter what you use to patch the Rom?

You can use any app that can IPS patch.

Illegal sorry, does the rom boot? Or is it a white screen?

If white screen you have to get another good rom.

If Save issue try IPSWIN.

Okay, for the 100,000th time, if you get a white screen it means the game failed the flash ROM check. You need to set the flash ROM size to 128KB BEFORE the game starts, so if you got a white screen go to the menu, change the flash size to 128KB, restart the game, then see what happens. I VERY strongly doubt that it won't run now.

Don't patch the game.

I just noticed something else. When I hook my PSP to the PC I can see the pokemon fireRed.SAV file on the memorystick. Then when I start the game it goes "the save file has been deleted"

Difference of save types between the two.

They have to be both 128k or 64k.

If you set gPSP to 128k then you have to set VBA on PC to 128k too.

It is probably ALREADY patched and that patch is breaking it. You want a version that does white screen w/o 128KB set (and you have to do it before the game starts :P)

Nope, it happened to me before on my GBA flashcart, it's not from the patch.
And btw, ********, I have the patch on the GBA flashcart and it works flawlessly.

So stop hating the patch lol :p.

Nobody reported errors till now.
