Default About my opinion about Gpsp (0.7)

Well when i heard about the latest release of the emulator, i had to wait a few days until i was free from college time, and finally got to test it out during yesterday.

And i was confused with the two versions of the emulator....

the original 0.7 and its alternate.

I really dont see a difference in the performance of the two versions, their both pratically SAME as the last version, except for the fact that it plays some games and the fact that some bugs like that bug that corrupts one of the files when you exit out of the home to xmb.

anyways, interface looks same and all..

but i found no speed differences like the notepad guide said

because both versions play same speed. no slowdowns or speed increases whatsoever

however some games worked that didnt work before like:

Megaman Battle Network
Pokemon Ruby with some graphical issues
Tales of Phantasia

but some games didnt work like:

Shining Soul II---which turns screen black, and you hear a scratching noise
Mario Tennis---Resets game when you press a or b button in the beginning scene.
Sword of Mana-Still freezes after name input screen.

but i chose alternate version because i can play Tales of Phantasia

does anyone noticed the noted above before?

Well I didn`t bother using the alt version, just went for the main one. And Tales Of Phantasia does work very nicely. Though MegaMan Battle Networks 1-5 are REALLY glitchy, 6 is plays the title screen perfectly with no frameskip. Soon as you hit New Game tho? BAM. Black screen. Should I try the alt version?

Can't hurt :/
Why not have both? If something doesn't work in one try the other.

I'm using the main version of gpSP 0.7. The only game that seems to have a problem is Pokemon - Leaf Green. It starts out nice, but later on the battles begin to slow down for some reason. But other games seem to run nicely .

All MegaMan Battle Networks work. However on 2 the rom crashes as soon as I talk to one of the shops the rom crashes. This happen to anyone else? Oh, and no matter what Flashrom I put it on, BN6 can`t save. Says it failed. Maybe its my rom?

It's not your rom, Megamans BN 2-5 cant save ingame for some reason, not even the VBA can save it. It might be because the Megaman games have unique save type V_113..something like that.

I've tried saving BN 3,4,5 and 6, none of those save. Thier save type is V_113, no other game has that save type so I guess it's not supported. You can't even SRAM patch it so it's hopeless to create sav files for these games.

Mario Tennis is your ROM. My ROM works almost perfect but the framerate is probably at like 40.

Mario Tennis keeps on resetting after the intro screen, but plays perfectly in terms of speed and sound...up to the point of course...

I have noticed in Mario Tennis that is says "save failed," but in actuality, the save has worked. No idea if that is normal, but you might check and see if that has happened on BN. God, I love this emulator(enough that *I* posted, as I rarely do). Anyway, still checking through my roms, but I already sold my GBA since this works so great.

So Mario Tennis (U) works perfectly...

No, Megaman BN 4,5 and 6 doesn't save when it says "Save faile" I doubt it saved for Mario Tennis as well, even though the save fails the emulator makes a save file for it anyway. There is nothing on the save file.
-= Double Post =-
Save type: SRAM_V113 (256Kbit)

Okay, Megaman BN 4,5 and 6 has this save type, so does Mario Tennis.
********, your emulator doesn't support this kind of save, I'm not dissapointed or anything because the VBA for the pc doesn't support this type of save either. You can't even SRAM patch these type of roms, so I guess the only way to get around this is implement your savestate feature.

I hope my little discovery helps with your development.

No, every game with a savetype of SRAM_V113 (256Kbit), doesn't save, I guess it's not supported.
