Default Getting ready for PSPSONE

Now that there is a working demo of a PSP Playstation One Emulator with a bright future ahead of it, its time to be thinking of what Playstation Roms to get. In my attempts to prepare for this upcoming release, I have realized two things.
1. It's hard as hell to find Playstation roms.
2. They're probably really huge and I have 56k.

Regardless, I've been doing a lot of thinking about what PS1 games I would want. I never owned a PS1, but after seeing a friend playing Metal gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on Gamecube, I now want the original on my PSP. Other than that, I havent been able to think of anything.
What are you guys going to get?

It's not hard, Just look at the right places. Torrent sites and such.

56K? Ugh, That'll make you wait 3-4 days per game.

I'm going to get some wrestling games and some other games.

So, what playstation roms are you looking forward to having on your psp?

Default ROMs?

Err....Playstation ROMs? There's no such thing. Unless you mean the BIOS, of course. You'll only need one ROM to play Playstation ISOs on your PSP, and that ROM's called SCPH1001.bin :eh:

Edit: Oh, and yes, you can make an ISO out of your own Playstation games. Get CloneCD for that.

Bear with me, I didn't get into emulation until I learned about the PSP homebrew stuff.
Alright, so i need Playstation ISOs and the weird bios bin thing. No idea what those are, but I'm guessing the iso's are the "roms" or playable game files and the bios is some kind of component needed to run the emulator but hard to find cause it's some kind of piracy.
Awesome.
Anyway, gonna try finding PS "Isos", but 56k is gonna be a biznash once I find them.

You can find hundreds of Psone Isos on the world's greatest P2P network. Wish I could mention the name, but really don't think I can. Just think about the movie Shrek. Maybe you'll get it.

Anyway, biggest problem is, these isos are friggen huge. You'll have to have a 1 GB mem stick just for your Psone emu and nothing else. And then you'll probably only be able to fit one game. (Some games are a bit smaller. Not most of the good ones though.)

Unless maybe it has functioning .zip support. Not even the world's greatest Ps1 emulator, epsxe, has that.

Plus, how is the whole "change discs" thing going to work, like for Parasite Eve, or Final Fantasy VII?

to my knowledge at the end of a cd you save. put the disk two iso in and you can load it from there.

Well if you had a big memory stick that can hold more than one ISO, maybe the emulator could have a menu where you would mount ISO on a virtual CD drive. So all you'd have to do is when the game asks for CD2, you go to the emulators menu, unmount the current CD (CD1) and then mount CD2 and then go back to the game.
Another clever idea is that if you have a MSDuo card reader, you could maybe take the MS out of the PSP during the "Change to Disc 2" screen and swap the ISOs arund on the PC and then put the MS back into your PSP.

Oh...my...god...

How could you guys not mention Star Ocean: The Second Story!?!? This game is amazing, just like Star Ocean for the SNES....one of the best RPGs for the PS1 in my book.

After playing about half-way through Star Ocean on my PSP, I thought I might want to play through Star Ocean 2 again, so I looked really hard for it, hoping to find it somewhere...and I did. Disc 1 is cracked near the outer edge, but disc 2 is perfect, so I ripped disc 2 and downloaded disc 1, in preparation for the PS1 emulator. How cool would that be? Beat Star Ocean, then pop Star Ocean 2 on the memory stick and beat that?

Oh yeah, I'm looking for a copy of Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time, which is part 3 of the Star Ocean series, and it's for the PS2...I've been checking on eBay, but if anyone isn't using theirs anymore, shoot me a PM .

Yeah...it did suck how the music in games on the PS1 were ten times better than N64.

SEIZE HIM!
Seriously, I don't mean to be an ***, but come on? Whoops. Let it go. I didn't get into the emulation scene until the PSP homebrew came out. I didn't know.
Look, I wasn't meaning to be sarcastic, it just seemed for a moment there that more people were focusing on me using the wrong term than the actual subject of the thread. I was getting a little frustrated and I'm sorry for that.
