Oh, you're talking about either the SNES ROM or the GBA ROM?
Gee, I have to still say GBA version since the cart runs damn fine on my GBM.
I thought you were actually talking about the GAME itself.

The SNES VERSION is superior. Yes, even considering the fan translation vs. the official American translation.

I don't know which one runs better emulated, but gpSP might actually run the GBA ROM better than SNES9x TYL runs the SNES ROM...

Props to iball though, for taking yet another opportunity to say "GBA games run great on my real GBA lolz newbs", thread wouldn't be complete without it.

English GBA version has terrible voice acting. And terrible music conversion (listen to the GSFs then the SPCs if you don't believe me). And no theme song.. no sound test either..

actually its better to me unlike the SNES's studdering voice acting

havent listened to the music, and ya, i hate the fact that it doesnt have the sound test.

which is why i would perfer the SNES version

Tales Of Phantasia has alot slower battles on GBA than SNES (not talking about with speed of the emulators, I mean normally). So if you want a shiny and prettier one, GBA. If you want a fast one, SNES.

Simply because Nintendo has nothing against people talking about their ROMs but Sony does have serious legal problems with people who talk about their... uh... games' backup images. Please do refrain from even mentioning them here.

Back to the topic at hand, I'll have to agree that the SNES version looks crisper and sharper while the GBA version looks somewhat... low-res. Also not to mention the SNES version has better sound and music and effects. The GBA version, IMO, has terrible voice acting with weird translation, no sound test, terrible theme song that is only in the Japanese version, and low-res versions of the PS1 version graphics (sprites, backgrounds, etc) so... it's good only for the GBA. If you go for quality, the SNES version is the one you want to get. Also... Cless sounds more appealing to me than Cress...
