GBA ROM Cheating w/ CM and GPSP tut

Pt. 1: Setting Up The GBA ROM Cheating Enviroment

First, To cheat on a GBA ROM on your PSP, download the gba rom, gPSP 0.8, and Cheat Master. And also DevHook 0.46. Follow the instructions to install. Then go to 1.50F and edit pspbnfc_game and pspbnfc under ms0:/dh/devhook.prx and put ms0:/dh/CheatMaster.prx . Then start up DevHook and put it on 333 MHZ. Then start up FW 1.50F. Then when it loads, it will look like your original 1.50 firmware, but when you go to gPSP, then load up your ROM, and press volume up, and volume down at the same time, this should open up the Cheat Master main menu.

Tut pt. 2: Making a GBA ROM Cheat
------------------------------------------------------

To make a GBA ROM cheat you won't need to be a rocket scientist. It's the easiest thing in the world. First, read my tut on how to set up the enviroment., then we're in gear to make a cheat.

Now, we need to figure out the value. This is why making a OH KO cheat for Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald is a pain. You'd have to know how much damage your hit does. So lets use Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team as our example. We can cheat on cash we have for right now. First go to the CM menu, then to search value. Then search the amount of money you have. Then go back to the game, and go to the Kecleon Shop. Buy anything. Then go back to the CM menu and put in your new amount. You should get 1-20 results. Buy anything again. Then open up the CM menu again. Go enter the current amount of money you have. You should have about 1-5 results. Press square, put in your comments. then go to auto, write, then put in as much money as you want to have. It will stay at this amount until you delete the cheat or load a new table.

Congrats!!! You made your first cheat!!! :)

really...? Works fine for me... 1st make sure you didnt put it in on 2.71... For some reason it messes up the files. Try putting it in pspbtgnf_game (sp...?) only. If that doesn't work contact me on MSN.

Then try using regular 1.50 w/o flash via devhook. I have tried this countless times with success every time. Am I allowed to post my PSP 1.50F txt files...? They require no files except three txts.

Thanks to you, I have nothing to do, I finaly beat Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team, now I already know the story and its boring now! It was giving me something to do for a whiel! :p

Hey, I have a 2.6 and can't use devhook so could someone make a save for the urbz so the player is rich and all missions are complete?

You can't. DevHook is 100% required, also, if you are a non-pirate kind of person (which is about 5% of this whole forum XD ) DevHook usage of 1.50F is not illegal. It simply uses what's already in your flash to boot DevHook.

Do you have to use cheatmaster or can you use cwcheat because thats what I have installed on devhook and im to tired to get cheatmaster.

If you would do some reading, right above when I was helping YOU, I said:

In other words, download devhook do the tut and... THERE.

I asked a simple Yes or No answer, I didn't need a thorough explanation. So just download Devhook and the Cheat Master...I've already looked at the tut for the Devhook and it explains the installation with just the firmware dumps. So I guess I just skip right to the end of the installation guide.

hmm, instead of messing around with devhook, you can install custom firmware and load up the CheatMaster.prx to get the same results. Great tut! This is real nice!

A regular 1.50 dump is not illegal either if you dump it yourself :|

Btw, that person with 2.60 should update to 2.71 and use devhook that way. Try that.

As for the illegal dump part, I think it is illegal to possess it however if you keep it on the dl, everything should be fine XD. And if that person were to update to 2.71, I suggest downgrading to 1.50 and then upgrading to SE-B'B, wouldnt you???

Even though DevHook is the beat, safest way... I guess that'll work too... In fact... If you loaded it up into cstom firmware you might even be able to hack your FW!!! :O

Yep, load up the prx in ur cfw on 1.5 or use the reflash feature in SE-B to load it in. There should be an autoinstaller for cm like there is for CWcheat.
Great guide!!! And for pokemon r/s/e u can find out the damage a move does by googling it. e.g. a search on serebii.net for e.g. tackle, brings up a whole description of it, including the damage it does. And remember, u can set it to an OHKO or something bizarre like 10000 damage!

Great tutorial, I beat red rescue team and my other gba roms!
