    Standard Super Metroid problems!

SNES9x TYL is an amazing Emu but I cant play perfection to perfection. UNLESS I put on Vsync then there are no graphical gliches going up or down a vertical shaft or going across a long horizontal chamber for instance. But with Vsync on it runs slowly especially when going through doors. Is there any solution that anybody has come across to combat this.

How bad are the graphic glitches? I'm using TYL 0.4.2 ME, all I have are a few hardly noticible lines in the background while runing through screens. VSync makes them go away, but it doesn't slow it down for me. It speeds up the framerate to where the enemys are twice as fast.

These settings work best for me.

Engine - PSP accel. +accur. soft.
    Video mode - Fullscreen
    Smoothing - yes
    Speed limit switch - yes
Speed limit fps - AUTO (detect PAL/NTSC)
    Frameskip - AUTO
    VSync - no
Render PAL as NTSC - yes

Vsync would make the game slower, didnt have the problem u had before

i would use the same settings as Dos is:

Engine - PSP accel. +accur. soft.
    Video mode - Fullscreen
    Smoothing - yes
    Speed limit switch - yes
Speed limit fps - AUTO (detect PAL/NTSC)
    Frameskip - AUTO
    VSync - no
Render PAL as NTSC - yes

no you see in order to play perfection, it must be perfect. You wont get that screen tearing on the Wiis virrtual console download for the game or if you play it on a SNES.

EDIT: Yeah I can show you guys what Im talking about if SNES9x can do screenshots or better yet record. I dont remember if it can do either cause I stopped using it.

Nintendo's official Virtual Console Emulator >>> Rom played on PSP. Itll be the same thing as playing it on the SNES. Its obvious that it would cause its an offical emulator made by Nintendo. Itll be just as good as Sonys PSOne Emu. How can it not be anything but perfect? Nintendo/Sony wouldnt bother making and releasing these Emus if that was the case. I mean come on, Im sure you knew that already.

Also I noticed that when playing SM on the SNES9x; The instant I move Samus around, the background inside Crateria or Tourain for example, will change to a darker tone. That wont happen on SNES or Wii. Unless someone can confirm that it does this on the SNES. I could easily go to my friends house and try it out cause I let him borrow my SNES. Ill try and find out but if someone else is curious to this and has the means then by all...means.

That's not an emulation problem, that's the PSPs screen. You really need to get over these minor graphical issues and just enjoy the game. A lot of hard work went into these emulators for your enjoyment. Don't "poo poo" it.

Wow lol. obvious Nintendo's virtual console will be better then psp(psp IS NOT MADE TO PLAY NINENTDO'S GAMES plus its illegal to play roms) but guess what buying a SNES for what like 10 pennies at a pawn shop would be better. Nintendo Virtual console games cost money plus must buy a controller to play them($20 for the controller and 6$ for like a 20year old game sound better to you or download it for your psp and its free with 95% quality). It wont be perfect becuase nothing is life is perfect and even perfection has its limits. Also SM isnt gonna be on the Virtual Console at release I believe only Zelda and like mario games at first. I never played SM but I bet you could find a rom if it that runs %100 quality since 95% quality isnt good enough for you.

I love this lol you download FREE ILLEGAL roms and complain there not 100% quality. Now only that you also praise the company(Nintendo) your ripping off by saying how good the Virtual Console will be yet you still download Nintendo's copyrighted games without paying them. I would call you a Nintendo fanboy but I cant cause you steal from them....

It's called motion blur. Built-in part of PSP's graphical engine. Deal with it.

Download an Emulator for the PC like Zsnes or Snes9x if you want it to play like the real thing.

Until then you should be grateful that people are willing to make these thing for the PSP and not complain about them!!

Or, god forbid, buy a SNES and the game and play it!!!!

Its confirmed. It doesnt do that screen tearing or that darker background tone thing on the SNES. You can also watch any console speed run here and see for yourself.

My Super Metroid must be perfect and since the battery life on the cartridge is wearing thin its the perfect time to get it on the Wii. I know its not on the download list yet but I aint getting a Wii right away anyways. And actually I already have a SNES and SM. My buds borrowing it. So its all legal for me.

I doubt thats the only rom you have on your psp. Plus I dont by that crap sites say if you own the game you can download it freely. Thats crap just like when they say its legal if you delete in within 24hours(if you steal something intentionally its illegal no matter what even if you bring it back later). If I bought Super Mario World and own it does that mean I can go to a gamestore and steal a copy(thats what you do when you download them) becuase I already own a copy of it? Nope. Im not sure why sites say that maybe if you dump your own copy of a SNES game to your pc and use that file maybe thats legal but I doubt you are.

No, its the same thing as backing up your PSOne games into ISOs and playing them on PSP or PS3. Or backing up your music onto a CD-R. So that way you dont ruin the original especially if its old. The only difference is we are talking about catridges. So legally Im backing that game up at no cost just like the other means, minus a CD-R. Thats why Im gonna happily download Super Metroid on the Wii whenever it gets on its list. But more importantly who cares. Its there for a reason, to download!

First of all backing up psp games is illegal. And like I said in my post before your not using YOUR backed up copy of SM so it is illegal. Plus I bet backing up any games copyrighted by the company that makes them is still illegal. What gives you the right to dump the files of a copyrighted catridge even if you bought it Nintendo still owns the copyright for that catridge just like sony owns the copyright for all umd discs so dumping the files of a umd you brought is illegal. AND YOU DONT HAVE ONLY 1 ROM ON YOUR PSP!!!!!!!

I said backing up PSOne. And backing up something you own aint illegal. How do you think people are gonna play thier existing PSOne games when Sony release the Emu. They back it up into an ISO. As for catridges there is a way to do it with flash carts. I never said that was my only rom. But it still doesnt change the fact that no ones gonna do something about it.

Go to Nintendo's official site, and they have a section i believe its the Q & A section, it was posted up before in another thread, and it saids on it, that regardless if u own a game or not, its still illegal

copyrights on games last 75 years

so u would have to wait another 50 years just for Donkey Kong on NES is to be legal.

Yup this is true. And I doubt Sony ps1 emu will let you play any old ps1 iso. It will probably only let you play ps1 games that sony re-releases thru there network. Sony isnt that stupid to re-released ps1 games for money and still allow you to just use any ps1 iso's you can just download for free(or buy for like $3 and dump them to your pc).

So if I kill someone and no one finds out and nothing happens to me it wasnt illegal for me to kill that person because no one gonna do something about it? It doesnt matter if no one knows if you do something illegal its illegal no matter what.

I beat Super Metroid a while back when I was still using the GTA Eloader. I remember some issues such as becoming invisible when doing a spinning jump or when going into water, the water hides Samus. I change some settings and it went away but I forget what I did.

I cant believe how someone would complain about a free program, and free games... beggers cant be choosers. and the darker toning in motion, thats the ghosting on the PSP.

and for what you said about you backing up your PSX games for sonys emu... theyre not letting you play YOUR OWN GAMES... youre going to have to rebuy them on their store!
