Im using 2.8 and cant get Snes9xTYL to save states, it just flashes saving state
and goes back to the game but no file is created.

I don't think TYL is fully compatible with 2.80 yet, my best suggestion would just be to try in-game saving or see if an older version works better for you.

this is the only version I can to work, anything else just sticks at a black screen that says the eloader version in the corner.

save states even on 1.50 have problems, wait for a next release if it does come out
