Guide to PSX-P Alpha 2 Emulator
1. Download PSX-P Alpha 2 Here. 2. This is a rar file (Similar to zip) you need Winrar to extract it. You can download Winrar Here. 3. Put the 'PSXP' and 'PSXP%' folders in your GAME folder on your memory stick. Note: SE-A/B/B'/B'' users put this in the GAME150 folder. File Structure: PSP -GAME --PSXP% ---EBOOT.PBP --PSXP ---BIOS ----put the bios here ^_^ ---Cgpucfg ---ISO ---MC ----Mcd001.mcr ----Mcd002.mcr ----Put nothing here Thx ;=) ---SaveStates ---screenshot ---EBOOT.PBP 4. Get the scph1001.bin BIOS and put it in the 'BIOS' folder in the 'PSXP' folder. (Don't ask me or anyone for the BIOS, go to google. The file size is 512kb) 5. Now you need your games. Only .bin and .iso files are supported at this time. These go in the ISO folder Here's how to get bin's from your own games. 1. Download Iso Buster Here 2. Install Iso Buster 3. Insert your PS1 game into your CD drive. 4. Open Iso Buster 5. On the left you will see CD, Session 1 and Track 01 etc. Right-click 'CD' Extract <image> RAW (*.bin, *.iso) ![]() 6. Name the file whatever you want and tell it where to extract it to. 7. Once you click OK it will extract your CD as a bin file. 8. When its done that it will ask you to name and save a .cue file. You don't need this file, just click cancel. 9. Put the bin file in the 'ISO' folder in the 'PSXP' folder. 10. Rename the file with .bin at the end. 11. Unplug your PSP (remove hardware from computer) exit USB Mode, Scroll right to GAME, Memory Stick and then run PSX-P. 12. Press X or O on your game and wait up to 1 minute for it to load. The finished file structure: PSP -GAME --PSXP% ---EBOOT.PBP --PSXP ---BIOS ----put the bios here ^_^ ---Cgpucfg ---ISO ----your_game.bin ---MC ----Mcd001.mcr ----Mcd002.mcr ----Put nothing here Thx ;=) ---SaveStates ---screenshot ---EBOOT.PBP Don't forget SE users PSXP etc. should be in the GAME150 folder! FAQ's Q: My PSP screen goes black and shuts down? A: If you have followed my steps then the game your trying doesn't work in this version of PSX-P. You can refer to the compatibility thread by Tooplex Here. Q: My game loads the intro/memorycard check/language select etc. then crashes? A: Your game is not supported fully yet, sorry. Q: My rip from Iso Buster is just a file not a bin? A: Don't worry, just rename it with .bin at the end then you will see it as a bin file. Q: My PSP freezes on the gameboot? A: Your probably a SE-B user. You need everything in the GAME150 folder NOT the GAME folder. No Readme, huh? Well anyway, my ISO rip starts but then early on in the game (which is casper) it freezes. When I ripped it there was an error message. It says "217874 couldn't be read - Error 03/11/00" Then, underneath there are a few selections
"Omit sector" - tried it, doesn't work "Replace with all zeroes" - doesn't work either "Replace with user Data All zeroes" - nor does this one work "Replace with erronoeous sector" - Doesn't work[period] What do I do? Am I doomed? Does this CD not work? Thanks for any help |

EDIT: Your error code means 3 / 11 / 00 UNRECOVERED READ ERROR Here is a help page http://www.isobuster.com/help.php?help=135 If nothing works I'm afraid your disc may be damaged or just not compatible. Does it run on a real Playstation properly? |

do you think there would be even the slightest bit of difference in speed if the exact same game was in either .bin or .iso?
in other words, is there any noticable difference between .bin and .iso?

As to a speed increase I doubt there would be any difference, if there was it would be so small it wouldn't be noticeable. Might be worth you trying and seeing if there is a difference. |

If your just looking at the cd there is a bunch of files, usually RAW. You need to use a program like Iso Buster to make the bin. If its neither of those then what files have you got? How did you get them? Last edited by Phil; 11-21-2006 at 11:22 AM.. |

And, I got my links from [REMOVED]. In the homebrew thread, there's a thread for ps1 iso's. I was originally looking for "Resident Evil: Director's Cut" (which I cant find ANYWHERE), but I found two links for Tenchu: Stealth Assasins... Also, for FFVII, there is 2 links per disc (6 links total)... Last edited by Phil; 11-21-2006 at 11:19 AM.. |

Registering is disabled on that forum at the moment. My guess would be there torrents or compressed rar's. In which case you would need to extract the ISO from the rar or use a torrent program. If you are getting just the files from the disc you need to create a iso from them. Try looking through Iso Buster's options. Last edited by Phil; 11-21-2006 at 11:19 AM.. |
