Seeing how I'm not sure what exactly they are, are they illegal? I know you need the ROM and the clone for it to work, but I have no idea where to find them.
If they are illegal can I at least have the name of what to search for?

I believe that are illegal but I could be wrong. Its weird I have seen many poeple have trouble finding them yet when I went to find one, one search and I found the best site that had them all on the first page. I just suggest you put in CPS 2 clones on google. It should come up on like the first page or second(its been awhile I got it on my faves now).
All ROMs are illegal, but anyways CPS 2 ROMs are really just certain MAME ROMs in "*.zip" format. Heres the list of games that are on the CPS 2 system, look for them as MAME ROMs billions of places have MAME ROMs.
I have the ROM, I'm looking for he clone needed to run the ROM.
But thanks Steven I'll look again.
For PSP? or PC?
For PC, I suggest Nebula (I don't know if I can link to emulators).
For PSP, find CPS2PSP.
Hes not talking about the emulator he is talking about the clone(which is a file that lets you run the roms for the CPS 2 for the psp). I thought more poeple would know about this lol CPS 2 is one of the best emulators for the psp.Zitat:

Well if you want a link to a site that has all the clones and such ill Pm it to you just ask. But if you want to google them take the original .zip name like mvsc.zip and add a u at the end like this mvscu.zip or even a u1 if needed mshvsf.zip -> mshvsfu1.zip
The u stands for language or country aka United Stated. So mvscj.zip would be Japanese ect.
As for clones being illegal they are not illegal bc all they do is change the language files to the appropriate language also make it compatible with that countries bios. What is illegal though is the parent of the clone. unless you actually own the Arcade cabinet.
Is the clone just a cps2 bios (or equivalent of)? when i start a game it says there is an error with a tile8_usage or something. I may sound like an idiot but i only just got the emulator and i cant seem to find any english instructions.
same problem as above with tileuseage problem, help us!, im trying sfa3 just to let you know
What firmware you guys running? On 1.5 I can play all CPS 2 games fullspeed without any problems with NJ lastest release.
im on 1.5 with a 2 gig stick, this is the first time ever using CPS2(or 1 for that matter) so im not sure where to get the clone or BIOS or whatever i need.
I tried using the caching program that came with it, but the eMU doesnt reconize the cached file
Clones are needed for the games to run. Its not like a bios its basically just a clone of the game(alot smaller file size then the actually rom tho). There really easy to find. Here is a guide to setting up CPS 2. It doesnt show the the new way of putting the cache file in tho.Zitat:

Heres link http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-homebrew-...ble-64476.html
The new way to put the cache file is to take the cache file you get from putting it in the converter and extracting all the files to a folder with the same name as the cache file in the cache folder in your psp.
Example:
After converting MvC the cache file name will be like mvcu_cache.zip. You make a folder in your cache folder on your psp(its in the cps 2 folder) named mvcu_cache and extract the files from the cache file(mvcu_cache.zip) to that folder and thats it.
Do all games need a clone and parent?
Dual Region Files List:
Marvel Super Heros (Euro 951024)
Marvel Super Heros Vs. Street Fighter (Euro 970625)
Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heros (Euro 980112)
Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers Revenge (Japan 970929)
[NOTE: This list is still in it’s early stages, and will be updated.]
thats what it says in the help, im not sure if it just wasnt updated or wether theyre the only games requiring the two files

So I don't get a crap load more of Pms for the links to the clone files Ill help you all :google: it. Use the bolded file names to search :google: for Mame roms.
For parent rom of Marvel VS Capcom its
mvsc.zip
For Clone rom of Marvel VS Capcom its
mvscu.zip
For parent rom of marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter its
mshvsf.zip
For Clone rom of marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter its
mshvsfu1.zip
For parent rom of marvel Super Heroes its
msh.zip
For clone rom of marvel Super Heroes its
mshu.zip
For Parent rom of Street Fighter Alpha 3 its
sfa3.zip
For clone rom of Street Fighter Alpha 3 its
sfa3r1.zip
And finally
For parent rom of Vampire Hunter 2 its
vhunt2.zip
For clone rom of Vampire Hunter 2 its
vhunt2r1.zip
And if your still having trouble finding them just PM I guess Ill send you the link. Wish I could just post it and be done. maybe Ill just make a guide sticky with the parent roms and clone roms names for almost every CPS2 roms.
http://cps2shock.retrogames.com tells you all about your cps2 rom needs now finding the roms is a different story.
for the clones to work you need to have the parent rom, which is the actual rom that can be played when you first get it on the computer and later on when you get a clone and play it the clone works. when you play it on your psp you need both the clone and the parent rom.
titleusage problem? i think i saw something like that a couple of times. are using the kernel mode one?
The cache problem might be because you are using the parent rom try cashing with the clone instead.
Ive got it sorted now, i forgot to make the cahce for darkstalkers :)
Theres really no need for clones anymore:

Its a bit of an advanced tutorial so good luck with it. I might fix all the CPS 2 games, but it would take quite a while.
