Well, I must say, I am very disappointed in MVSPSP 1.30. In the old one I used, (MVSPSP1.0A with Memory Card Mod) used to play Metal Slug 2 with little to no lag, full sound, and no graphic problems whatsoever. However, on this one, when the first level starts, the background is all black, it is very slow (20FPS at best) and the sprites have black boxes all around them. This goes on until about the time you free the first hostage, then the boxes go away, and the background is visible, however it still is very slow.

Now, I hear everyone praising it, so am I just doing something wrong?

Did you even install the caches right? Or did you just overwrite the eboots?

I overwrote the Eboots and all the files, but I also reconverted the ROM before trying it. So it does have a cache based off the new converter. :/

You need to unzip the cache file and put all the cache files in a folder in the cache folder. So for example for metal slug 5 if the cache was named ms5.zip you would unzip that and make a folder in the cache folder named ms5_cache and extract all the cache files intot hat folder. It will be fullspeed.

I did that, and turned off Raster Effects. It worked great! Thanks alot man, I owe ya one!

It is my understanding that MVSPSP never worked well with Metal Slug 1, however I haven't tried it yet on this version. I assume it still doesn't work well.

Yes, Metal Slug 2. 2+ seem to work fine, it is just the 1st one that doesn't work.

I thought you were waiting for the psp release?

Metal slug 3 works on the old and new converter - the only problem one is mslug5 - the one that used to work (something like ms5pcb) doesn't work now, but mslug5 does - and it's bloody great

I think Mslug 1 works if i use the MAME rom in the converter. Im not sure bout that though.

Metal Slug X now has sound and good speed using the very new version.

Anyone know how to gte blood in Metal Slug?

Do I need to find the Jap BIOS?

metal slug one works fine, full speed i might add even zipped ms1 always worked for me so i guess i have the mame version. what games now have sound? playing garou: mark of the wolves with sound would be sweet.
mister chief i think it is the jap bios you need for the blood but i thought there was a way to unlock the blood in both europe and USA releases something about holding down all the buttons to set what games have what.

version 1.40 (best I've found) has full speed and sound on metal slug 1,2,3,4,5 & X - it's brilliant!

Hi, is there a reason why all of the large roms only have partial sound? For example, in all large fighting games, you will get a few sounds like 'menu selection' and the music is missing a few channels. Anyone else have this problem? Please help =}! I just want to know if my problem is rare.

You can turn blood on by changing the DIP switch settings.

Plus some other cool things.

I'm getting an error on the converter, it doesn't make the cache files.
