Pokemon FR says it can't save (memory problem

). I'm on gpsp 0.8. The flash rom setting isn't in the menu and in game_config.txt, all the versions of pkmn fr have "flash_rom_type = 128k". I am on the bpre (eu/us) version.
Anyone help?
EDIT doesn't work on the squirrels version either. Doesn't even read the savefile created by vba... which does work.

do you have a .sav file already? try deleting and start from scratch or just look for a different version of your roms pkmn fire red works for me i already have 1 badge

lol i beat brock when gpsp crashed when i tried to save it.
The problem was from starting from scratch, that's when I made a sav file with vba and put it in the gpsp folder. And it says "the save file has been deleted"...
I tried a diff. version of the rom, I moved from a rom that I got from a random site (no particular way of identifying it...) to the more common squirrels version but it still doesn't work.
I guess I'll just use save states until it's fixed, but maybe it's a bug with gpsp?
EDIT now it works. For some reason.
EDIT2 now it doesn't work. Maybe it's my psp.
