Post Bushing Finds ISO Hack

http://hackmii.com/2008/07/dear-nintendo/#more-63

Bushing has found a security hole which could lead to ISO loading on the Wii.
Being a noble and all around top-notch guy, he is offering to help Nintendo patch it.

I like the action he is taking towards it. Instead of making the release public for *Waninkoko* to use to make an iso loader. He is more than happy to help Nintendo out. Good for you Bushing.

no kidding. dont get me wrong, though, i would love to see an iso loader around but its very honest of him to come out like this and make it known to nintendo that its very possible to run isos on unmod'd wiis. but you see, if bushing figured it out and made it known that its definitely possible then others that didnt think it possible are now open to the task of trying it. and you know what they say: "you can put an endless amount of monkeys in a room with 1 typewriter and eventually they would create works of shakespeare." i think he just didnt want to be known as the one who released an iso loader...hes gonna leave that up to somebody else.

Announcing this means that someone else will find the same exploit and release it to the public.

the action he took towards it was great, this means that Nintendo may not look at us like a group of internet super-terrorists (internet hate machines), but more like a community, that understands the laws. (not lawls)
However i cant say that i dont want to see an iso loader, because for me, my discs dont stay in the best of shape...

Even if bushing doesnt realease this, and that Nintendo fixes it, I would not be suprised to see an iso loader, since we can already do so much with the wii.

Its only a matter of time.....

I disagree i think he should release the information to public and let people hack it. why pay for something when you can get it for free?

But now we have custom firmware could there be a possible iso loader from it?

Your the reason that the big companies hate us.

But then again, so am i, i hope he does realease it. and ill never update my wii again, muhahaha
well, unless they release a good online game... which will never happen for nintendo.

Still, i dont think Bushing will realease his work to the public even after the 5 days or whatever. But now im sure someone else will find it and exploit it.

even if an iso loader is released it wont matter because most of the wii's users don't know even what an iso is.

After reading on Bushings website for a bit and gaining some knowledge...
(he has some great artilces, id recomend reading the "your wii is not a psp" article)

He says multiple times on different articles that he does not want an iso loader. Until i hear from him that he wants to make one possible, hes not going to release it.

Which means were gonna have to wait for a more umm... 'scurvy" coder to release anything.

So what the companies make there money once they make and release there console. Once we buy it i think its our forget about privacy and whatever. We bought it so we can do whatever we want to it (HACK IT).
No i don't think bushings will release it, But it will only be a matter of time before someone else finds it, Well hopefully.

Mikey could you stop I think im going to have a ham sandwich today making half assed sentences. At least try and make sense.

If this is truthful then the guy is obviously doing the right thing in his eyes. But in my eyes there aren't many wii games I would pay for. But there are a few I would download.

Oh, I dunno. Maybe people buy games:
  • To support the developer, because they would like to see more games from them.
  • Support the console, so that it doesn't die off. I'm pretty sure that Nintendo is selling the Wii's at a loss
  • To be legal

Of course, why would this make any sense to you? You're a hard-ass internet pirate. My mistake.

Please you think the likes of aXXo and kingben gives a dam on the industry these are only some of the high rated pirates. If they cared then why continue doing what they do? I can understand that developers need money as well.

Oh and i thing the PSP is coping ok with the whole iso hack. Sure Thats off topic on what you guys where saying but if it can cope then so can the Wii.

he wont realease it, this was just a small stunt to get nintendo to repond to him, so they can either patch it, or keep it covered up, i dont think they will be able to patch it tho, because i think its done on the DVD drive, through the IOS and blah blah blah, to much info needed to explain here, but not going to happen marcan said that this doesnt allow backups to load yet, and it would need some optimization to get working(its not hard tho)

I used to support piracy, on my psp I had a lot of downloaded games, but this is mostly to blame for the lack of new games coming out for the psp.

oye, listen to what youre saying. "mostly to blame for the lack of new games coming out"? bud, the reason people stopped creating new games for the psp is because of the piracy issue. im not gonna lie i did pirate games but not in its entirety...you see i copied games that my friend gil had purchased. he copied games i purchased. every once in a while i would download games like EXIT because its a fun game but not worth the buy. such a small short game for the price you see? metal gear acid and others of the sort that have tons of replay value are worth the purchase which is why i currently have 15 games in my physical collection (pawned my psp so theyre useless right now). i just realized that i never beat breath of fire...hmmm....i hope i still have my save. point is that youre a douche bag for being so blind...i understand i too am a pirate so there isnt much that i can say without being hypocritical but at least i supported the publishers/creators of the games ive bought (the only one i regret buying is the marvel game because it sucks and for some reason the game literally fell apart - something with the case was wrong i guess)

if ever an iso/dvdr loader did come out i doubt that it would impact sales of the wii but it would most likely deter new games on the wii. and even then piracy's gonna be "mostly to blame on the lack of games coming out" on the wii huh? d'you ever wonder what happened to the dreamcast? people found out that it didnt even need to be modded. the cdrs just needed to be burned a certain way or something and segas hardware sales died just like that.

i cant say that i dont want an iso/dvdr loader to come out but im sure am glad that its not coming out as soon as everybody would like for it to. i have tons of wii games and even more gc games so there arent many games i havent purchased and thats only because those games look sucky. that cooking game is one of those sucky looking games but since everybody seems to like playing it (reviews n such) id also like to try it.

PC software piracy is more rampant than PSP piracy, and yet people keep making PC software. Weird! By your logic, the PC should've died by now.

You need to get your priorities straight. What is the point of having a game console, if you don't want to buy the games? Plus, it isn't going to get released.
