Hey guys, it occured to me. You know how Twilight Princess will actually be able to use the Revolution controller...well, think of this. Why not use the Gamecube Disc for uses OTHER then games on the Revolution? I mean, they're a lot cheaper to manufacture then DVD Discs, thats for sure. Think of the uses.
Bundle in Games for the Virtual Console when you buy a Revolution game - Why use an extra DVD? Talk about a waste of space of money. With the Gamecube disc, you have more then enough space to fit in a bunch of NES, SNES or N64 ROMs on there for sure. You could easily fit every Mario, Metroid and Zelda from NES to N64 (even the handheld ones), and STILL have space for more. But lets face it, you won't get all of those games on there in a promotional deal :P
Game Demos in Magazines - Once again, why do you need to use a more expensive medium if you can fit it on the smaller Gamecube discs? Definately nice :)
Promotional Deals - You can easily fit trailers and other things on the disc, and with them costing peanuts to manufacture by the time the Revolution comes out, they'd be great for 'Flyer Use' (i.e. you can hand them out on the street and barely feel affected financially).
Hell, you could even use them for actual Revolution games themselves! Sometimes, games are so small, using an entire DVD for such a small game seems wasteful.
Now, I know this is somewhat off the topic of Revolution, but, who's to say they can't use the 2.6GB Gamecube Disc for the next Gameboy? It's a lot bigger then the 1.8GB UMD Sony's using for the PSP, and it'd be a great way to get back at the people who laughed at the disc ;)
Well, there's my 2 cents to help out a relatively dead section of a forum ;)
