I am an inexperienced solderer and tried to install the cyclowiz via wire install by myself as a fun project to do. It was completely and totally my own fault that my wii is bricked but I please ask you for any advice you can give me to help resurrect my wii. It is currently in the hands of an electronic expert and I would like to be able to offer them any information that may help in fixing my Wii.
I did the wire install of the chip including the reset wire and the programming switch. All seemed well and my mod seemed to work and I played a few backups the first night I did the mod. The next day the mod had appeared to stop working. Regular discs booted ok, but the backups did not. I panicked and stupidly flipped the cyclowiz programming switch while the wii was on, thinking that maybe I had possibly bumped its position and thats why the mod was not working. Well, when I flipped the switch while the wii was on and it turned off...... and would not turn back on after that.
I disconnected the dvd drive and still the Wii would not boot, I removed the mod completely and hooked the dvd drive back up, and still no boot. I tried a few other things but with no success, the wii appeared to be "bricked". So again, I know it's totally my own fault for being stupid but was hoping you might be able to help me with some advice as to what possibly happend to my wii. The electronics guy i gave it to had completely taken the wii apart and was looking for a blown fuse or resistor on the mainboard. He still has not found anything but will be using a multi-meter to try and target the problem and hopefully find the source of the wii not booting.
So, please, if you have any information about what could possibly fix my problem I would greatly appreciate it. I take full responsibility for my brick and I understand it may never work again, but I do have a little hope and thought I would ask your expert advice. Can you offer me any insight into how I can fix my Wii?
