i would be happy if people could grow up and say "hey, that games looks pretty cool", regardless of what system it was on, or "thats a nice feature!" to what a system has, instead of "lol ur console sux" , "lol <brandA> stole that from <brandB>, that way nobody would have to walk around making excuses up for the consoles they've chosen to buy, or have things changed since the last time i bought a console, do they now employ armed guards to follow you after making your purchase to make sure you don't stray from your chosen machine?Originally Posted by MaDSouL
It's all idiocy, and no matter what anyone says it'll never stop, because once someone makes a negetive comment against the system someone else owns, they can't help but take the bait and flame back.
Me, as a reviewer i can say, reviewers don't go into games with the intent to play it for a few hours and say "lol that was pretty cool", we're hired to play them in depth and tell you whats wrong with the games as well as whats right, even if you don't like what you hear, would you rather they gave the games all straight 10's saying "wii is the best machine in the world", or would you want to know the flaws before laying down your cash for it.
As for my sig, i've always maintained that red steel was hyped beyond comprehension ever since seeing it running at e3 on a test run which was painfully obvious not to be real but miming motions on a controller to video.
Either way, the wii will excell at back catalog games, and future releases that are built specifically with the controller in mind, for the time being you'll be stick with games which, while fun, won't bring out the full potential of the controller, just like the people with ps3's on the other side of the fence.
