TMNT Confirmed for All Platforms...Except PS3 and Xbox 1
i really hope they got somthing really cool for the wii it also look like the PS3 and xbox 1 are getting no love
Today Ubisoft confirmed that the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game, based on the upcoming CGI film, is in development for Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, PC, GBA, DS, GameCube and Wii. The game is being developed by Ubisoft's Montreal and Quebec City studios, and will be available on March 13, 2007.
While not a major blow to the PlayStation 3, its omission is a little surprising given also-rans like the GameCube are getting a port. Then again, its doubtful that the console will see a significant installed base by next March, and of course development costs are much higher on the platform than on the 'Cube or Wii.
The game takes on a darker tone than the Turtles you may be used to, which is more in line with the original comic series and the upcoming CGI movie. In the movie, the Turtles face off with villains and "otherworldly" creatures, and the pressure will begin to get to them and challenge their ability to stay focused and work as a unit of disciplined ninjas.
“The TMNT movie is all about the emotions associated with family and teenage angst,” said Nick Harper, creative director of the TMNT game at Ubisoft’s Montreal development studio. “We’ve taken that philosophy and turned it into gameplay mechanics that will be fun and challenging. The direction for the all new TMNT movie and game is a darker, more realistic Turtle experience. Gamers will embody all four Turtles from the big screen to engage in over-the-top action sequences and intense ninja combat. We think this game will appeal to kids, teens and adults alike.”
The planned list of features for the game is promising, including "intense ninja fighting", plenty of Prince of Persia-like acrobatics while navigating New York City's rooftops and sewers, unique tag-team moves, and a large roster of enemies both new and old.
