I've been thinking about the past of this generation's three console.
Here is my view on Nintendo's Past:
Starting as a small time card manufacturer in japan.
With enough history to dwarf all console producing
companies in the market today. With so much history
behind it, Nintendo is all the wiser. With so much
innovation and creativity. To this day Nintendo has sold
more DS units than Sony has sold PSPs. Not to mention
all the DSs games in Nintendo Library. You have to have
respect for Nintendo. With such a great history dating back
to it's major hit NES, seriously now. There is not a soul on the
Planet, even young children who don't know who Mario is.
My View on Sony:
Such a major company, leading everyone into the future.
Including High Def, Music formats, etc. Everything that Sony
does, which includes it's main thing (TVs, DVD players, blue ray players etc)
But this is a gaming forum, not a TV, DVD forum. late 1996-1997 the Playstation one was released. Few of the ever successful CD based console game systems, not including Sega’s try. But some say the PSX was overshadow by revolutionary console system by the name of the N64.
The N64 was a powerful system, with such innovative games, and
not to mention exciting. Than near the end of the generation Sega released
the soon to be failed Dreamcast. But it was until the dreamcast was overshadow by Sony's new baby. The PS2, with amazing video's of game play
all of the dreamcast's hype was stolen. The PS2 went to become one of the most successful console of the following generation. Selling more units than nearly the Xbox and Gamecube Combined. I believe that sony has been thinking about it's own past, (the PS1) a weaker console to it's rival N64, and they put that into the PS3, making it one of the most powerful console to date.
But with such great power comes expensive hardware. I'd say Sony has outdone themselves. I believe that’s a bad thing. Trying to get ahead everyone else in such a hurry. This could lead to it's demise
My View on Microsoft:
With the popularity of Windows, and nearly endless funds
Microsoft can, and will do everything in it's power to make
the xbox franchise a system to reckon with. Microsoft's Xbox
was a popular system for Northern American users, but the big
black box was exactly too popular in Japan, and Europe.
Releasing their Xbox 360, a nice sleek white design and
power to boot. But sadly, Failed past wasen't too popular in
Japan. But Northern American Users went crazy for it. but with now
success in Europe and North America, Xbox 360 is more likely to make
it out of future alive.
I believe Sony's PS3 will be most likely to fail. (Although Not Likely)
Wii has the Potential to lead (although the Xbox360 might give it a runs for it's money)
Now, The Xbox360 is most likely to lead, but with the Wii it's being challenged
Of course, this is just my opinion.
No need to Flame, you could think whatever you want about
you're favorite console, this is just my view.
