"This game ain't big enough for the 22 of us as it is!"
Finally hitting stateside, Tatsunoko vs Capcom will be available for the Wii. While the lineup of 22 characters is looking great - Ryu, Morrigan, Viewtiful Joe, Ken the Eagle, Jun the Swan, and Ippatsuman, just to name a handful - we now get a glimpse of the characters who didn't make the roster.
A shame Joe the Condor and Nero failed to be drafted. And aww, why not Ibuki? By gods, they were even thinking of including Tyrant? Jeebus, that would have been so cool!
Originally, Capcom already set the limit to 22 characters only, so cutting down the pool of suggested characters had to be done. The following had to be scrapped from the list because of copyright issues and overall gameplay balance, among others:
- Nash (Charlie)
- Date Masamune
- Vega (M. Bison)
- Zero Gouki
- Tiara Hime
- Condor no Joe
- Yattaman #2
- Soul Taker
- Nakahara Komugi
- Beruku Katsue
- Tekkaman Evil
- Braiking Boss
What's cool is that though these characters didn't make it to the final version of the game, the producer did mention that they're hoping the game sells a lot. If so, plans of a sequel may ensue. Sweet! This world always has more room for cross-universe brawlers.
