USB Steering Wheel on PC?
I have a USB steering wheel that I just got for xbox 360. Its the joytec black one with the lights on it. I have to say I'm very dissapointed...it isn't even compatible with need for speed most wanted unless you use automatic instead of manual since you cant shift. In all 10 button configs avalible none of them work so you can shift with the shifter on the wheel. Its also really hard to controll and not like any car I've ever driven. Anyway...on to my question. Can I use the normal drivers for the 360 controller on the PC to play racing games. Then if I did, what remapper should I use to make it really like a steering wheel instead of if you go left it presses the left key and right presses the right key. Obviously the left/right aren't pressure sensative however you can turn the wheel a little or a lot. Thanks in advance for any help :) :rtfm: (whats RTFM?)
I got it working, I installed the 360 driver but when I plugged it in apparently I didn't need it. It detected new hardware Joytec Steering Wheel and worked fine technically. I ran Need For Speed Most Wanted and then set up the controlls and it seemed to be working great until I actually started a race. All the controlls worked as they should but the steering was way to sensitive and unrealistic and just overall sucked. The wheel is also tilted WAY too far down so its at like a 45 degree angle instead of a normal 80 - 90 degree angle like normal steering wheels in a car. Its unrealistic and I would not recommend buying the steering wheel at all, for the PC or Xbox 360. I'm going to return it ASAP and hope they will take it back. If not it will be on eBay...
