hi, i ripped a few of my dvd's into the avi format and put them on one dvd data disc, i then put the disc into my 360 and it came up "Mixed media disc" but then i cant actually see anything to play, it says there are no videos there. Do i have to update my 360, if i do is there a way to do it without using xbox live or being connected to the internet?
thanks |

The 360 cannot play AVI natively... only MP4 and WMV. Or if you want to save time on conversion use a transcoder and stream it through the network.

you can update your xbox without live, but that wont solve your problem. the updates are available somewhere on xbox.com. you have to burn them to a cd or dvd, then it will run on your 360. you could also buy and official xbox magazine or borrow the dvd from one from a friend, the dvds on those always have the latest update.
