Default Help Xbox 360 in 1080p

OKay, I bought my 360 a while back, so its the one without the HDMI. I have a VGA Cable but the problem is that My New Philips 1080p TV Doesnt have a VGA Connection.

I plugged in my other component cables and it runs great in 1080p but I just read somewhere that the HD-DVD addon will not do 1080p with component cables...is this true?

Also, is it possible to exchange my 360 for one with an HDMI port? If I can do that then dont worry about the first question, I dont mind paying a little more to get it exchanged, but will gamestop except it if its already 1 year old?

Last thing, since I have it connected through component in 1080p, will I see a huge difference connecting it with VGA or HDMI in the same resolution?

Please Help I dont want to return this TV it looks AWESOME!

I doubt gamestop will do that unless you purchased a 1/2 year warranty.

There are HDMI - VGA converters out there, Not sure if they handle HDCP though.

Yeah, I don't know if this warrants returning the TV. I'd try and get either the adapter or a 360 with an HDMI out. If you do swap the tv, I'm guessing the bravia has a VGA port?

Yeah the bravia has a VGA Port, but There is a 250 dollar differance between the two, so I did the math and Im keeping the TV, and I just sold my 360, and bought one with an HDMI port, I just saved 150 bucks

Don`t get a sony Bravia. I read on the internet that xbox 360 won`t play in 1080p on a Bravia.

Another thing
You can do 1080p using the component RGB cable that you initially get when you bought the 360.

But only if the TV supports 1080p over component. Not all do.

Thanks for your replies, but I went a different route. I Sold my 360 and bought a new premium that comes with HDMI, so Im keeping my tv.

One question though, When I saw a demonstration of Pirates of the Carribean At worlds end, It looked like.. I cant even describe it, it looked so freaking real.

Now my question is this, will it look like that on my tv?

The tv that I saw it in was a 1080p samsung with a 25000:1 contrast ratio, will it look the same on mine?

Mine is a Philips 1080p with 8000:1 Contrast ratio?

Im asking because ive seen 3-4 HD DVD movies and they look Amazing but not real looking if that makes any sense?

I don't know much about tv's but looking at the contrast ratio i say your tv will look no way as real as the samsung in terms of color.

What you were probably seeing with the Samsung was 1080/24p. It basically eliminates any judder and gives it a more fluid lifelike movement. Also, like Jet said, the high contrast ratio will give it better blacks.

That and Pirates looks so damn good on BD.
