Can I replace the DVD Drive in my 360 say a Hitachi for a Benq or is it that each drive is assigned to a specific console?

each drive has a key in the firmware that pertains to each individual motherboard.
but.... firmwares can be flashed

so yes? but i dotn see the point. the difference in volume form the hitachi to the benq is like a formula one car, to a cart series car (1 below formula one) its still loud as hell.

You can always just make you 360 get a rods and maybe MS will ship you back a 360 with benq...
