Default Need help plugging my Xbox 360 to my TV

I have a standard TV but noticed it has the green and blue plugs but that's it, no red one. I was hopping to get a higher video quality(?) by plugging it through the green and blue plugs. Everytime I try to play it shows nothing but static. I try plugging the red cable in every other plug but it won't work. Any suggestions?

Do you have the Xbox360 that has a HDMI port in the back? If so does your TV support HDMI?

Just took another look and they have the red PR plug. Does this mean I can get a higher quality image?

Yeah, you can get 480p. Just get some component cables and you're set.

I just tried it again, but there's no sound. How much are the component cables? Can't I just use the ones that came with the Xbox 360?

Also, I'm not up to date with all this new HDs, but does 480p really makes a difference?

It wont be an amazing difference but it is you will notice a change. You can use the cables that came with the 360 (I forgot it came with component cables) Make sure you also plug in the audio cables (red and white). So in total you will be connecting 5 cables into your tv.

Alright cool, thanks for the help. So I'll be connecting two reds and two whites? Where would the other ones go?

No. One red/white audio cable, and one component video cable with red, green, and blue connectors.

Cool, thanks. I didn't notice much of a difference. I'll have to get another tv.

the difference isnt much. its not a higher resolution. the resolution is identical. the difference is it progressive rather then interlaced. (progressive means every line on the tv is generated from top to bottom in order while interlaced is every other line is generated then cleared and then the rest are generated and cleared. but it happens so fast your eye cant tell.
