Default Mouse???

I was wondering if anyone knew if the Xbox360 will support a mouse of any kind? whether it be any USB mouse or maybe they will release a xbox360 mouse. I just hope i can play all these stunning games with a mouse so i won't suck at all of them

yes and no, the mouse gieves you more precision but the controler is overall easier to use, i wouldnt mind if you could use it in games but i would love to have it so when, and i mean, someone mods it, you could run a windows-esqu program on it easily

Mouse and keyboard are idealistic for FPS. Other than that, for me, its very difficult to use.

No it's not, it's to easy to hit things and to hard to turn, jump onto thing while shooting, and just overall feels bad.

they might have a mouse as an opitional choice, some games on ps2 supports the mouse function, but using a mouse and keyboard against someone using a controller? that would just be unfair for example: playing counter strike on the xbox with a controller and playing someone with a mouse and keyboard thats skilled with those...you guessed it the person with the controller died since the mouse is quicker to shoot with and more precision.

You point and click on the mouse while the controller guy it takrs a little longer to aim for the head, so he dies.

Actually mouse a keyboard setup is the choice of every professional gamer out there. It offers more precision and speed, your hands arent stuck toghether and you are wayyyy more accurate, fast and efficient.

I really hope they are going to allow for mice in the next gen, with the games programmed to be mouse/key capable. I wish someone had the info!

Most of you guys on here are console gamers am i right? thats why you all like a controller. talk to any pc gamer and he will tell you the oposite of what most of you have posted.

mouse/key pwns!

as a counter-strike 1.6 player of many years i'm a little biased but i can't imagine playing that game with a controller.... ew.

controllers are terrible for fps, its why all console FPS games have aiming assistance.

I’ve heard rumors about a mouse and keyboard being useable on the 360 that would be nice though if not there are adapters for the current x-box that let you use a mouse and keyboard as a controller though I don’t know how well it works I’m sure something will be made for he 360.

As far as mouse and keyboard or a controller, my friend swears by the x-box controller for Splinter Cell but I swear by the mouse… though for Prince of Persia SOT on my pc I hooked up my ps2 controller to use. My friend and I grew up on Doom with a joystick(we didn’t know any better) and GoldenEye 007 on the N64 and he was always way better. He is a lefty and I’m a righty but we would both use our dominate hand for looking/aiming. I’ve just moved on and prefer the mouse but a controller is ok even best… sometimes.

The correct term would be MICE dumbasses...

(notice the es cause it ends in s? good job, tomrrow we do colors!)

Mice imho are not neccicarily easier, they just have much less curved learning curve, and everybody plays with em diff, controllers are all the same, and personally, I want a mouse with full analog buttons, cause thats what they need to be complete!

The mouse and keyboard setup is preferred by PC gamers as it make games so stupidly easy and unrealistic.

I hope to God mouse and keyboard are not allowed for any games, it is cheating plain and simple. Name me one guy that can do 10 360 degree spins in half a second?

ther is no way in burning hell ANY controller is better than a controller. PERIOD! if u hand 2 noobs a mouse and kb, and one a controller in Counter Strike, the KS and mouse with pwn the hell out of the controller dweeb. the mosue and kb is soooo much more acurate, u can quicly aim, shoot, your done, the joy stick on a controller has no sensativity like that, u have to aim in the general direction, u can just swing around like u can with a mouse n kb

You obviously were playing collapse...

The upsides of pc keyboard and mouse are usually balenced out in fps's...

i.e. hitboxes, server side vs client side, tickrate, lag, packet loss, etc...

and I wouldn't mind having a few rts games that use any good ole keyboard and mouse, It'd be a neat idea imho, because this hardware is powerfull enough to make some high-quality AOE3 graphics...

Oh and btw, I wanna see you do the following things with a controller:

Play tournament quality games with other high ranking players in:
Quake 3
CS 1.6
CS: Source
UT
UT 2k3/4
Any other largely popular fps

I hope they have a mouse and keyboard of the MMO's. Using the Mic would be alot easier but I think it'd get to be a hassle if you were in an area with a high density of people. I know you could do things like have it to where you can only hear people in your close proximity but I still think at least a keyboard would be better.

That only highlights my point that playing with a mouse and keyboard is cheating and is easy and unrealistic. You would be able to play "tournament quality" if everyone else was using a pad.

I use the Xbox 1 pad converter and I have yet to find one person using a Mouse and keyboard in Halo 1 that can even touch me. In CS occasionally I will get beat but that usually isn't my fault LOL. So basically your aiming on a mouse is better but your overall control is going to be better with a pad.

explain to me how its unrealistic. when you use a mouse. the mouse becomes your crosshair. and in real life you physically move you crosshair to your target. and in a game you physically move the mouse toward the target. If you think about it it is alot closer to realistic than a controller where you are only moving your thumbs.

It is unrealistic because it makes everything so **** easy. You can move your gun around as if it wasn't there, you can spin around 20 times in a second, atleast a controller reflects the fact that it takes an amount of time to move your gun and to turn around.

im sure certain games will be able to support the mouse. as of now there aren't any that require that peripheral but a USB mouse would work on the next gen console.

I'm pointing out that all of those games are much, much to fast to be played with a controller, and using a controller is the equiv. of wearing gloves that only let you use 3 of your fingers on each hand when playing a sport, a mouse is more natural because it allows full analog as far as x/y movement goes...

And even if you did play those games with controllers, it just wouldn't be as fun because the pace is cut almost in half!

This is a doublepost, just realized that...

I'n real life, you can move guns around fairly easy, I don't know about you but I own a .22 Pistol (if you want specs just ask), and I shoot it at the range weekly, and it IS EASY TO MOVE THE ****ING GUN AROUND! All a mouse needs is recoil... have you ever watched speed shooting competetions? 10+ targets in less than 6 seconds? I'll go get some vids if you wanna argue that point further... I realize you cannot spin around that many times in the air, but think about it, in most games you either:

Have superhuman speed (speed is what is required for the spin)
Have the ability to jump super high
Low gravity
Some sort of cyborg
Have some sort of special suit on...

Just throwing my little bit in. When im playing paintball i can turn around 180 in less than a second. In a game i want that same reaction. having to push the analog stick and turn slowly for 2-3 seconds is not my idea of good control. with a mouse i flick my wrist and i am turnes around.

to me, mouse and kb are way better than pads for fps.

Pretty much right! But with a mouse its easier to stop... and like I guess they could make a game more challenging...Have one set of controlls to look up down left right, and one to aim (mouse) while also having to move around...some sort of double mouse config with buttons on the mice...
