I know that it's been said, audio will be able to be streamed from your computer no matter what PC OS you're using, and video will only be available with Media Center PC's. But that upsets me.
I have a fairly new (Only about a year old) HP Pavilion Desktop that I've upgraded the video card and memory (Which has nothing to do with the media center argument) and other little things, and I'm upset that now I'm being faced with having to possible purchase a Media Center PC just to stream video's to my 360.
No, that last paragraph is just a rant. But, does anyone think that they will be able to stream video using just good 'ol XP rather than a MC edition ?!? Also, I don't know much about OS systems, but could I just upgrade my OS to a XP:MC to get the stream to work. (From what I understand, is no, because Media Center PC's are more than software, they are hardware aswell.) But I have seen that it is possible to acquire the Media Center OS and just upgrade. Will that be enough ?!? Or will I still not be able to stream video because I don't have the Media Center HARDWARE ?!?! Also, is it a bad idea to upgrade my OS to Media Center ? Just some questions as I am illiterate when it comes to Operating Systems.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. I figure that the wonderful modding community will figure out a way to stream without media center PC's, but it probably wont happen to quickly.
