I don't think so, I think there was a thread about this before.

Which is understandable yet dumb....if they were to support them all, they would have to load a ****load of drivers into the 360 OS, which would probably create some overhead....so I see why they didn't, it just suck having to buy an adapter that is $40 more just because it's 360 specific...I should take a pic of my floor sometime, there are about 14 different wires and cords strewn about my living room from once place to the other....so i'm not too worried about going wireless yet :P

just get a ethernet bridge, connects to wifi and is $60-70.... but they should make it like this:

windows releases a program.

you download the program, it extracts the driver you want, automatically puts it in an xbox friendly format and then you can put it on your usb drive.

you plug your usb drive in to your xbox, there will be a new option for drivers and it extracts the driver from your usb drive.

simple as that.

or they don't spend all that time and money making new programs and interfaces, and instead just make a proprietary wi-fi adapter that they can make tons of cash on

I'm sure I've read somewhere that some do work.

Netgear ones don't, at least not the 2 that I've tried. Then again, I'm happy with the wired way, and I only tried it out because someone asked me to test my Netgear ones out.

I think if you get one that has the same chipset as the Microsoft one, then you should have a good chance of it working.

Creating drivers for a completely seperate OS and architecture is much more complex than that and it also opens up the 360 to possible attacks. It's simply not realistic to expect support for anything more than the official adapter. If you want to save the cash just get a wireless network bridge or stay wired.

that is why windows could incrypt and/or sign the files so they cant be messed with. but i guess it would be way to hard for one of the most advanced programming facilities to make a way for windows drivers to work on 360...
