wanna get an HDTV now that i have an xbox...
saw this at the best buy store: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138087675171 saw this at best buy for about 600ish cuz it was on sale. there were some others for about 500. whats the difference between a flat-tube HDTV and the skinnier ones? is it just the size of it? what about the quality? whats the difference in quality when compared to something like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1155069777444 anyone got a recommendation? im looking for something around that price range but i dont know much about it. and the dude at best buy wasnt really interested in explaining it... another question... will movies also be played in HDTV with the xbox? |

-= Double Post =- In my opinion the picture quality on a CRT is much better than an LCD. They are usually cheaper because everyone wants a flat panel TV now because they are popular. I have a 30" Samsung CRT that is not even a SlimFit like that one and it looks fantastic. My in-laws just got a 42" LCD Flat Panel and the picture is nowhere near as good as my tv. The best picture quality that I have seen is DLP tv's, they are relatively expensive but they are the only thing, in my opinion, that will give you a better picture than a CRT. CRT, all the way. It's really no contest. Not only is the CRT half the price, but CRT TVs have a better picture, and last a lot longer than LCD TVs. I have a 36" Toshiba CRT HDTV, and outside of being heavy as hell, I have nothing negative to say about it.
Plus, comparing those two specific TVs, the 30" Samsung has an extra HDMI port, which will be very useful when you start picking up HD equipment. $680 isn't a bad price for a Samsung TV, either. Edit: Haha, I just noticed this thread is a month and a half old. My fault. |

It displays 1080i, 720p, and 480p/i. My uncle bought it in early 2005 for somewhere around $1500, but he upgraded to a DLP TV shortly after they came out (He wanted to go bigger). I bought it off him for $600--best purchase I've ever made.
