After playing umk3 for about 1- 2 weeks straight my 360 died on me this morning..........

I turn it on and all i get is 3 flashing red leds and to top it off my brother comes home with gears of war......

well im sending my 360 for repair soooo do i get a free game when it comes back ???

why would you get a free game? also i would suggest getting a fan if you play it that much!

you can only get a free games if your game is stuck in your 360 when you send it out. (by stuck i mean that you can't get it out, not that you neglected to take it out)

and the game you would have gotten is old ass Project Gotham racing 3, or crappy ass perfect dark zero.

Just wondering was yours an older launch one or a more recent one?

probably newer as the old ones would over heat before it would get to the 2-3 week playing time! also why would you have it on that long? do you have a life?

Turn off your Xbox, turn it upright, and slap the left side of the console.

I swear, just try it... It works for me every time, and my that happens to my console usually once every couple of weeks.

Just one swift hit.

That's funny it reminds me of armageddon near the end where the Russian goes "American, Russian it doesn't matter all made in china" give it a couple of whacks and it starts working again.

@thread creator I recommend trying what Sagev Sal said. I'd give it 75% chance it will work.

First?

I'm fairly certain that there has been a plague of them. MS extended the warranty on it because of this.

As soon as my warranty runs out I'm opening mine up, replacing the thermal pads with arctic silver, and installing better fans. Also considering a clear case too.

it was only US that got it extended but I have no idea how long for or even if they're still doing it. Europeans have a year warranty anyway because of EU regulations on the Sale of Electrical goods.

I heard the nyko fan will cause more problems to your xbox360 and when i read my serial number to the guy on the phone he told me i was one of the people that got it when it 1st came out so i have an extended warrenty. The red leds wasnt the only problem tho sometimes i couldnt even eject my dvd tray or I would have to turn it off and back on to actually open it. But my friends xbox kept crashing and they sent him 2 free games back with his fixed xbox but i dont care i just wanna play gears of war right now. From now on iam like waiting 6 months after the ps3/wii comes out to get it........

Wait, why would you do that AFTER your warranty ran out?

Because if you open your system while its on its warranty period its voided and there not responsible for anything that happens from there like damages or somthing like your xbox not turning on etc...

the whole repair section of xbox is just one guy who knows the sweet spot to hit xbox's to get them working again
