Has anybody played with an x360 using a computer monitor?

I figure it would solve the whole "me not owning an HDTV" issue... Would the image quality be good?

Also, what kind of adapter do I need to buy? Can I buy an adapter from a normal chain store or do I need to buy an adapter online? Can somebody give me information on hooking up an X360 to a computer monitor (how to, what do I need and, quality of display)??

vga adapter
buy from a retail store
just plug in
the audio, however, is still the TV plugs, so find an adapter for that
quality of display is high
