Default Im selling my ps3 to get a 360

Im planning to sell my ps3 for a xbox 360. Now my question is what is this that I have been hearing saying a Jasper 360 is the best 360 coz it doesn't have a RROD anymore. The main reason I bought the ps3 was because of my fear of getting an 360 that soon will have RROD. Is this Jasper thing true? Not having RROD anymore? Help please

The Jasper 360 uses a smaller chip so that means it generates less heat. Less heat will result to lower chance of RROD but it doesn't mean that it won't happen. To be safe, I suggest that you avail of longer service warranty from the store that you're going to buy
it from.

I've gathered some links below that might help you further.

Default Fan

Just buy a cooling fan and transfer your games to the hard drive, you shouldn't have any problems.

Default Im a bit confused.

I sold my ps3 and my games now. I have enough money to buy a 60gb 360 and 1 game. As I was searching for an xbox 360 that has the jasper chip in it, I happen to stumble this 360 arcade edition that has these bar codes on the box. BTW I am in Japan now, and the Japanese are smart enough to place a sticker on the little hole where you have to check if the unit is a 12.1A on the rails of the unit. Also this is what I saw in the bar code

XGX-00029
Xbox 360 Arcade Edition Team SOD
Lot no. 0842X

Is this unit a Japser 360? Coz if i does then Im gonna rush to the store and get the Arcade edition and later get a 120GB hard disk.

Oh and what do you mean install the game in the hard disk so there is no problem?

REPLY ASAP PLEASE.....

There are a bunch of other guys who are looking for the same Jasper chip 360 here in Japan too.

Default I finally bought a 360

As of today, Feb 26 2009, I finally bought myself a xbox 360 Arcade and a 120gb HDD and GTA 4 PAL version. I was really really scared and worried that I might get the Falcon or Zephyr chipped 360 as I was going to the store and get a 360. I asked the store clerk and even the manager if I can open the box so I may check if its a Jasper chipped 360 by looking at the voltage at the back of the unit. They wont allow me, I kept explaining to them about the Jasper chipped 360 and they told me that the 360 manufacturing date was December 2008. I'm still unsure if they are telling the truth (BTW Im in Japan), so what I did is to take the risk and buy the console. I got home and opened the box, I carefully opened it by using a cutter to cut the tapes and stickers out. When I opened the box I immediately checked the backed and saw the 12,1A ;5V. I nailed a Jasper 360. To double check, I also check the adapter and it has holes on the sides of it. Im now convinced that I got a Jasper chipped 360. My 360 gamertag or name tag is TekkenSFXer. Add me up if you want. And the GTA 4 Pal version works on my Japanese 360. Can't wait to download SF2Turbo HD. See you fellas on Xbox Live. BTW, what is the proper position of the unit? Horizontal or Vertical? My plan is to place it horizontally on the top of the 360 box coz my floor is carpeted and they say its dangerous if I placed it on the carpet floor. Any real helpful tips is very welcome.

Default .

I mean that if you install the game to the hardrive then the disc drive won't be used and that will help decrease both heat and sound.

Horizontal is best

no need for extra cooling fans. that will screw up your xbox.

You're a fool, enjoy the red ring!

All kidding aside, I've heard good things about the Jasper

Falcon models are fine as well but Jasper is the best. And yeah my 360 gets alot more use than my PS3 does. So congrats on your 360 purchase.

I own both systems and any 360 has the red ring chance. The newer models are less prone but still more than they should imo. A person likes a system for the games so to each his own. I prefer my ps3 downright but it depends on the games you are looking for and whatnot.

Once, I propped an about 3 ft. by 3 ft plug-in fan behind my 360. I got a red ring the next time I booted up the 360.
