the ps3 will be more expensive its $500 even without a hard disk and we dont know if there controllers use batteries either, not to mention the price of blue tooth.
But i know what im doing. Buy the £280 console and an av cable (****ing *******s) a £25 wired controller (not wireless) and £5 worth of cheap batteries can get around 100 of them for my wireless one lol.
Total cost to get a 360 up and running on live with a couple of games, two pads and cables for a standard TV, basically the bare essentials:
- Console: £280
- Charge kit and battery for first controller: £25
- Second fully functional wireless controller: £58
- Xbox live subscription: £40
- 2 games: £100
- Standard AV cables: £17
=£520
That £400 PS3 looks quite attractive all of a sudden.

I'm not worried about the price of the 360, if it has great games, I'm buying it (well...my brother :shhh: )
You can still buy wired controllers for a cheaper price...so why not just buy those if you want to save money. (Wired controller comes with standard package, I'm sure they will sell it separately)
i already have xbl and a headset
so all i need is the basic pack and the HDD, that why i need fully loaded.
the wireless i could live without.
Either way the 360 is far from the value Microsoft claimed it would be at E3. I can't believe you have to pay an extra £17 to get a bloody scart lead and if I decide to get the standard package then I don't get a hard drive and headset, essentials considering the original Xbox headset most likely won't work.Zitat:

One interesting bit of news from the MS annoucements coming out is that the 20GB HD is needed for playing original Xbox games..

well I have to say after calming down about the price of the controller its a pretty good deal. £280 and the console will work but you need AA batteries for the controller. I could get 100 AA batteries for £5 and with 30 hours per 2 AA batteries. They would last me a year. Yeah its a pain in the arse changing batteries but no1 complained about the gamecube one. So im gonna get that and a wired controller for the 2nd one.

all this wired/wireless crap means nothing to me. I've been running wireless logitechs for about a year now so I am used to the whole AA battery thing.
Enjoy downloading patches onto your memory card which has to be bought seperate, I'm sure you'll fit plenty on there. The pads will not be £20 and it has not been announced how many wired controllers you can use, probably just the one so you have to fork out for the wireless ones and games are going to be £50.Zitat:

well i have a plan so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasle. Basically I buy some AA batteries about 4 of them. And a wired controller. Use the wired controller all the time. Then wen I have a mate around he can use the wirless that way il hardly ever need to change em. My mates arnt around my house playing games for 60 hours a year i can tell u that.
