And game console or not, people should be able to buy whatever they want, and if spending money on something you want, makes someone a dumbass, then i guess everyone here is dumb.

Do you absolutely need an HDTV to play XBox 360 games or can you play them without an HDTV but it would just be worse quality? It just seems kinda' stupid buying an HDTV before the system (why buy the system first if you can't even play games on it?)

So you can play with other people who have it and waste money together.

The quality will be worse, but not dramatically... Games will still look great on non-HD TV's...

Developers are trying to develop there games to take advantage of HDTV's, but they're not going to alienate non-HD owners...

"Gold" and "Silver", are refurring to something different from "Premium...

Gold, and Silver are refurring to Xbox live... Basically, Silver is the free service.. You get all the downloads, and you can communiacte with friends and what-not... You don't get Online Play though... That's where the Gold service comes in... For $50, you can buy the Xbox 360 Live Gold membership, which actaully allows you to play Xbox 360 games online...

"Premium", is reffuring the the Xbox 360 it's self... There is the Base Package, and the Premium Package... Refur the link below for the difference between Premium and Base packages...

You know what I dont think it is such a great deal if it was a DLP then Kudos but its plasma which means chance of burn in. I think that Microsoft sshould do a promtion with there parntner Samsung and give you a dicount on one of there tvs

Well, this pertains to the XBOX 360 as I'm annoyed as to how I will hook up my lower end Logitech speakers. I have the Z-5300e speakers, which do not have an optical output. They do come with some L/R adapter, but that still isn't surround sound. Also, I do not have HDTV in my room where my XBOX 360 will go (at leas not at the moment/when the X360 comes out). Basically, can anyone tell me how I could hook up my 5.1 Z-5300e speakers up to my XBOX 360 with full surround sound? I'd like to hear when someone is behind me without throwing another $300-400 down...

I'm assuming they've got a digital coaxial input then? In which case get an optical to coaxial adapter.

haha, yea i was looking at the silver package (the one that makes the most sense for me). i worked it out and did conversion to what each thing costs indevidually here in canada, then changed the cost to CAN$$. it actually was about $45 cheaper ;)

Well, the speaker controller hooks into a coaxial plug...I'm guessing maybe it could work? I have been looking for a 5.1 to optical adapter...but I still haven't found one yet. I've seen 5.1 to USB adapters meant for laptops which don't have sound cards, but I hacen't found one for optical... Hmmmm...

I'm not familiar with logitech speakers...

If the logitech reciever (if there is one) doesn't have seperate outputs, then your pretty much fsked...go get a better reciever..

You don't buy low end speakers and expect things like this not to happen..

My system is like past high end, and like it doesn't seem that many games acutally use the rear channel... its always, always front and back, footsteps, explosions, etc... nomatter what settings you use...

The 360 Has 5.1 or 7.1? I'm personally hoping for 7.1 (or .2) because thats what I have and I want the games to sound just as good as the music or the movies...

(for those who are interested in what I have, I don't know the model numbers off the top of my head but... ohshi can't remember the wattage either, I do know that the system, along with the tv has its own circut breaker though)

XBL fold is about 4 a month or 50 a year depending on which one you chose.

These prices are still more than you'll be paying in the US (its $60 a game) but the RRP for 360 games over here is going to be £45 or possibly £50 so you're making a very nice saving.
