If you really can't wait, then just buy a UK system, it would be pretty much the same anyway.
Except if he bought the uk version then bought a aussie game it will proberley be region 4 and not be able to play it on his uk machine that is region 2
There is some murmuring going on with both Sony and Microsoft about the state of mod chips in Australia, since they've just been deemed completely legal in that region. I can't remember which company it was, or even if it was both of them, that said they were going to have to rethink their plans about Australia to protect their investment. What this means is completely unknown, my guess is that they will both release much later in Australia as is the case with every other console unfortunetly.
yeah we get jibbed everytime. arent they getting released eveywhere else this year?? oh well if its next year i got time to save for one
Games do not follow DVD regions. The Australian 360 will follow the PAL TV standard and will be fully compatible with UK games just like every single other console ever released there.Zitat:

To answer the question, all answers point to sometime around March, its a shame they managed to sort Europe out but left Australia out.
Yes, you read correctly. Halo "1" and 2 tourney, because we like to play old school. And yes it is in a heated warehouse with tonz of pizza and drinks to go round! email me for address and instructions. Admission is $10, it is an all nighter . >> [email protected]

# of xboxs = 12?!?!??!
Projectors!?!?
Prizes!?!??
who is paying for this wonderful occasion? I own the warehouse and the projectors, various friends are bringing the xbox's. As for prizes well I have to pay for that.
thanx
stoopid Australia getting all the worlds advances last of all :(
I live in Perth, WA too and I feel your pain Hmboy
A fair point with only one slight flaw, games do not follow DVD Regions, they are subject to a different territorial locking system which simply falls into three categories; Japan, North America and EU.Zitat:

Australians and South Africans just use European games and hardware with a different type of plug.
EDIT: And I just noticed that this had already been pointed out, still it's worth re-itterating, although if you're fortunate enough to find a European, and in particular British, supplier willing to ship one of these things outside of their mainland pre Christmas 05, you would be one seriously lucky son of a *****.
yea i not going to do thank for the help
Well is this friend a long time friend? If so meet his uncle with the unit.
Most people will say no because if you do get they will be jealous mof0s. lol.
i would do it but only if i could do it all at the same time, i would not pay untill i get it.
Sounds suspicious since when would a MS employee sell 360 units that aren't supposed to be released for a while to any old person in the general public
when i resvered my 360(core at gamestop) they told me i was on the 2nd shipment. now i know the 1st is 22nd for the us and 2nd (or 10th can't rember) of dec for jap and in between that for euro.
my question is will the us stores get seconds before jap/euro gets their first or bascially when will 2nd shipments come in. (gamestop wouldn't tell me and people at this site seem to know more than them.)
thanks in advance
just cancel it and go to target or wal mart on launch day
gamestop wouldn't tell you because they dont knowZitat:

I would still check in on launch day. Some people have been known to make multiple reservations at multiple stores to make sure they get a machine on day one, and end up cancelling the rest after they score one. Also, Microsoft doesn't know how many will be available at launch either, so check in on 22nd and they might receive more than they thought and you may end up getting one.
Last month I walked into EB and asked about a preorder and they had already booked all 20 systems that they were expecting to get on day one, I tried an fye and got #6 on the list, out of an expected 10 or so. Which shows you that dedicated game shops are gonna sell out faster.
I preorded at EB Games...paid in full...on a credit card...so not cancelling it
but yea..they said i "might" be on 2nd shipment...if i can't get one on day one...
i'm #3 on people who paid in full out of all the others who didn't...you know ones that only pay like 50$(thats a min. at the store) but i know the guy who works there and i'll check in if some people didn't pick one up or they have extras
Second Shipment just means that they set a number, lets just say 15, of units per shipment of what they expected. So, they sold the first 15, and you were in the second group of fifteen.
What's this mean to you ?!? Well, Lets say MS decides to send 20 systems to that store. If you are one of the first 5 of the "Second Shipment" you now have a system on launch.
Also, the REAL second shipment i have read many times is planned to be a week from the launch at latest (And weekly thereafter)
Believe me, the number of multiple reservations is astronomical. Add that to the fact that Gamestop don't know how many are in the 1st shipment and when the 2nd shipment will arrive, then you've got a pretty good chance of getting one on launch day. Just go along to the midnight launch and see if you have one, if you've ordered the Core then I can't see their being many problems.
They seem to be really impressed with PGR3, Call of Duty 2, and Kameo...
PDZ, and DOA 4??? Not so much...
Read [HERE]
Fixed for you
i hope i can get it the first day...if not at least two days afterwards...
that link leads me to a new thread....
Yeah, I missed what was wrong... It worked earlier...
You posted a link to "make new thread" instead. I corrected it for youZitat:

see, i knew i wasn't the only one who thinks doa4 looks like more of the sameZitat:
Dead or Alive 4 - Most disappointing title on-hand. A modest upgrade from Dead or Alive Ultimate
erm.. it's already doing thatZitat:
PDZ cannot carry the Xbox 360 launch.
I have a prety decent setup in my room. It's an 80" projector, with Sony 5.1 Surround Sound. I then have a couch set up so that I can watch in comfort. It's pretty nice, and playing Xbox 360 on it will be awesome! I'm going to get long component cables so I can even have high definition on it!
Oh, anbd I just joined, your forums look nice!
Pretty Decent??? Well, I guess it's all relative :dry:Zitat:
Zitat von lmunz22
He means decent in the fact that it is a projector, most projectors are not meant to watch moving-video on, mostly for powerpoint and such... For what he spent on that (if its anything near decent), You can buy 2-3-or even 4 beautiful dell 42 inch lcds...or even 1 60 inch sony grand wega lcd...
no i just meet him this year but u wull buy the new video ipod
^^Oh, I thought you guys could get sarcasm...My mistake for trying it over the internet. Replace the word "decent" with the word "kicka$$!!!!!" I paid about $1,200 for ity off eBay. Brand new, never opened. I realise that you must now think it is a piece of crap, but trust me on this one, it is better looking than some of the (poorly) calibrated Plasmas and LCDs you see everywhere. Black Hawk Down or the Matrix on that thing is awesome, as my projector has no problem whatsoever putting out true blacks, not some crappy gray.
OK if i got xbox live for just the xbox and im payn 50$ a year can i just xfer my account over to the 360? or would i have to go out and buy a subscriton and cancel my old xbox live account?
If any one knows about this please tell me.
Thanks
Yes you can transfer your old xbl account.
Xbox live, and Xbox 360 live are both the same thing... It only differs by what console you connect with...
i read it...it was ok..i guess i'm still buying the games..
I'm not too fond of their reviews that much when I first read them. The are expecting the games to be revolutionary..which they shouldn't really be unless they are with the NR. PD:0..they must hate the first one to say what they did about this one. Just looking at the videos you can get the feel of the first great game, I don't see how that could go wrong
IF PDZ sucks thairs always Gears of War which is 3rd person and then if that sucks it's back to Halo 2.
It's not them that are expecting the 360 games to be revolutionary... It's everybody...Zitat:
Zitat von FrozenIpaq
Nobody's going into the next generation saying "Boy, I hope these games are pretty good"... NO!!! People want these games to blow them away... That needs to be their incentive for gamers to move to the next generation... If they are making Xbox games, and they only difference is prettier graphics, there will be some sevrely pissed off, and dissappointed gamers...
I'm not buying a 360 for better graphics, i'm looking for a more immersive exprience, previously unachived on current gen systems...
And yes, while you can get a pretty good feel for a game by the video, well, you can't control a video... I'll take the word of a person who's actually played the game... Not the Microsoft executive that's pressing play on the VCR....
Now, all that aside, my hope for the Next-Gen is not all lost by any stretch of the imagination... But I am a little worried (yes, for Microsoft's, and Gamings sake) that MS is not going to take take advantage of this quick start as well as it should/could... I mean, I don't want to start any arguments, but this situation is becoming more common to the Dreamcast/PS2 fight...
I'm just throwing that out there...
