That guy saying the 360 sucks just make him sound like "T3h Ub3r Fanboizorz"
Wow. I need to go around saying how much everythink sucks. When you make intelligent posts that are actually relevant everyone ignores it so they can tell the idiot what an idiot he is. Seriously, just let it go. Does it make you feel good about yourself or something? Or are you just trying to up your post count?
I have no idea how the 360 could crash your SMART system. Haven't had any problems with ours. Do you work in the electronics dept? Have you tinkered with the box or anything? I guess what I'm getting at is: how do you know the 360 did it? Did turning it off help or something. I'm finding this a little far-fetched. It seems more likely something else was messing with your system.
I've posted in other threads about the 360 demo set up at Wally World where I work. I have tinkered with it and I can assure you it's not plugged into the usb ports. Atm, nothing is plugged into them. When I go back to work on Monday, I'll try to find the power supply and if it's any different from the one pictured in this thread (the dev kit's PS) I'll get pictures.
[EDIT] Guess I don't need to take pictures. They've already got some at www.xbox-scene.com on the front page.
one word comes to mind.....TOLD :Jump:Zitat:

Erm. I only asked the guy to post intelligently. I don't want people posting nonsense such as "Xbox 360 sucks" randomly in threads in our forums because its the spark that starts flame wars. If he can start his own thread and say that he dislikes the Xbox 360 and back it up in an intelligent manner. Then I'm all for it. But I don't accpet him just going around posting garbage like that.Zitat:

Is he actually banned or is that just his title? Cause that's quite a clever way of avoiding being banned. Also can you ban people from certain sections of the sitre rather than the site as a whole? Cause it would be nice to temporrarily remove people like that from the 360 section but still allow them to be constructive where they belong.Zitat:

To be honest I am not sure. It'd be a good question for Clay or Mike. As for roberto I didn't even know he was banned. Last time I checked he wasn't and I didn't ban him for this. So he must have been banned anonymously here or messed up somewhere else and got banned there.
it's not a title. he's really banned. whoever that was found a way to sign up with that exact same name as an existing member just to start flame wars.Zitat:

the real roberto isn't that much of a fanboy
How could the 360's wifi cradh the SMART system when the 360 doesn't even have wifi? I'm also pretty sure the controllers the kiosks use are the wired variety, and even if they weren't they only reach 30 foot and Microsoft wouldn't design a device that causes so much interference.
I belive it wasnt the WiFi adaptor that was screwing things up but rather the wireless controller.
In that case anyone with a radio transmitter could walk in and screw with it..?Zitat:

I've never heard of bluetooth frequencies being disrupted by radio transmitters and other objects of that caliburZitat:

So why exactly would the XBox 360 effect a bluetooth device when the 360 doesn't have bluetooth?Zitat:

Wasn't getting after you. My point was that you'd already said everything that needed saying on the subject and there really wasn't anything else to say... like the next several posts just repeating what an idiot he was and whatnot. I'm just sick of reading through 2 pages of "metoo's" before anyone else says anything relevant.Zitat:

The controller does seem to be wireless. Nothing wired to the ports in the front and I'm pretty sure I don't remember anything being wired to the back besides power and av. Also the plastic thing the controller is mounted in has a wireless symbol on it. Only thing that makes me not sure is that the controller doesn't have that square bump on the back we've been seing on the wireless controllers, which I assume was where the batteries went. Or was that only on the prototype? It's possible that it's a wired controller, but not wired into the xbox (MS doesn't want Wal-Mart ppl changing/charging the batteries). Like wired into something that then wirelessly transmits to the box. Tomorrow night when I go to work I'll see if I can get a better look and maybe some pictures.
Oh, and in regards to the bluetooth stuff, are we sure Wal-Mart uses bluetooth? I use the telezons (hand scanner things that link to the SMART system for retrieving info/placing orders) fairly regularly, but no idea exactly what tech they use.
Ah alrighty I understand now. No hard feelings meant.Zitat:

Well as you all know the 360 will come out very close to Xmas time, which I am SURE it will sell out, demand be higher etc. As you know the PS2 was the same way, sold out EVERYWHERE. People bought a couple PS2s for 300$ pre order, then sold on Ebay for 700-1000$ to everyone who HAD to have one.
Here comes 360, alot of hype and promise and more, who thinks this will be another PS2 where supply does not meet demand and think this could be worth investing in to sell when the supply runs out and everyone wants to give you double or more then what you pre ordered for.. thus allowing you to buy another one anyways.
Just a random thought I had pass in my mind.
well thats curtainly gona happen with the premium bundle!
the core probs not, they will slowly sell but not sell out, cus people will realise there not gona be able to get their child the console this xmas!
its the same with the psp over here in uk atm. there sold out everywhere ever since launch. and if u look at ebay in about a month ull see psp's that range from £400 all the way up to £700 for the spoilt kids out there :P
I'm pretty sure its whats going to happen. Especially with Microsoft coming out and telling that they don't have as many consoles as they thought they would. Luckily I've got a preorder down for a premium first shipment.
Actually the core is more likely to sell out, as i've been informed that most of the X360's shipped are premium. and most avarage buyer are going to buy the cheaper console. Will it be as chaotic as the ps2 launch? only for people without preorders. Then again the ps2 was a sequel to a very popular console, and the X360 is a sequel to a lackluster console.
thats the problem, i think that the xbox surpasses ps2 completely, graphics, its just, xbox has hardly any support! well, compared to playstation neway. hopefully xbox360 will solve this!
the only console i have ever pre-orderd was the dreamcast, now because i pre-orderd this, lets hope i dont jynx it and make it a flop, if it is the case, everyone can spam my email address with as many viruses as they want :P LMAO
This is the first console i have ever preordered all the others i didn't buy untill months after it was released...heh
Well PS2 had it made.. DVD support for playback, something no console had yet, could play the OLD games which was WHOA! That and had software support and rpgs.
Xbox 360 might not be this way as they are mostly sports and shooters which get outdated and replaced rather quickly to be honest and doesnt have a strong RPG line to hold it some..
Least thats the trend I seen with MS.
I think when he said wifi, me meant the 2.4 ghz signal used to transmit controller information, as 2.4 is used by most everything now (phones, wifi to some extent, anything else wireless), and there are only 14 channels, and knowing ms, they prolly used 2+ channels a controller, even if the controller is still wired, its still actively searching for a new signal...
Take more...you get bonus points for being redundant and reconfirming it (big news sites like these kinda things)
Your saying the Telzons were working fast as it was? 9think its spelled right for that handheld terminal)Zitat:

Last I remember the SMART system always lagged as it was. But wouldnt doubt it.. so many ways around that SMART system, but you know that stuff only if you worked at Wal Mart.. (Which I hope you never do)
But I do know my PSP.. I think it was a IP issue, that it would DC the PS2 if I even activated the wifi to play FTB.. didnt restore itself till I turn off the PSP.. so who knows, mightve been the same issue, a IP issue trying to take over.
It might just be the crossing of channels...
afaik, the 360 reserves channels, as soon as its on, it fills the channels and says "KAY THESE ARE MINE, ALL YOUR HERTZ R BELONG TO MEH", and that seriously messes with all wireless signals, kinda like how microwaving a large bowl of water on high for 5 minutes will lag up your wifi...its capturing it/shooting it back out in a constant attempt for a connection...
some ppl clearly have no idea what a killer app is. a killer app has nothing to do with quality. a killer app in gaming is a game that gets ppl to buy a system to play it. look at preorders for 360..thru the friggin roof. why? oblivion. pd0. kameo. pgr3. all are 100% killer apps. doenst matter if they arent released yet. they have ALREADY sold systems, making them by definition killer apps. this launch wipes the floor with all previous system launches. both in quality and quantity. before this, dc or xbox had the best launch lineups. but now we get a few GREAT fps games, an incredible action/adventure, our revampled sports titles all online, an epic rpg, some racing games of stunning caliber and a good fighter all right outta the gate on day 1. all the genres are covered and covered very well. each major genre has a top notch title coming immediately. what more could you possibly want?
i dont like preordering systems. its part of the fun for me to find one on day one. then again, this time M$ is really making it tough by putting it ouy right near thnxgiving rush. hopefully i still can get one.
That rush was over for us Canadians long, ago....,eh?Zitat:

Im getting one for my B day, and its on Jan 10. Its gonna be a loooong wait. :(
Peopl love to ***** about anything. When something is given to people they want more and expect more. You can never satisfy people.
I wonder if this can cause cancer?....
just joking...
Canada gets it the same time as America right?
no, its already released in canada.. you guys didnt get the memo?Zitat:

Hahahah , thats what i always do.Zitat:

The reason this Lauch is so huge is because they're not competing with anything... I mean, let's face it, the PS3 is more than half a year away... Nobody's thinking of that...Zitat:
Zitat von comradx
And I don't know what you guys are talking about... These games need to be mind-blowing... That's the point... Going from the PSX to the PS2/Xbox, graphics could sell a system... That was the main feature... But we've reached that point, were graphics aren't the main focus... You're sad if you're into the next-gen just for better graphics... They need to take advantage of the system's power in other ways than just graphics... Graphics aren't going to do it for me anymore...
That's why one of my favorite games is CoD2... Yeah, it looks better, but if you've ever played the demo, it's more than a better looking game... It's an expirience...
And that's why I keep putting down games like PGR3 (which is basically PGR2 with a graphical upgrade), and salivate at the possiblities of Midnight Club 4...
