i feel preorders have lost their purpose i remember the first system i preordered was N64, and it was guaranteed to be there for me when i went to go pick it up(which i never did). but it seems like ever since the ps2 was released no preorder is certain. it's just left up to the store's discretion. they fill the preorder as they see fit. you could be the first to preorder and still be unsure if you're getting one the day it's released. hell when i got the psp there was no guarantee i was going to get one. like i said ever since the ps2 the is no such thing as day one certainty any more, you're still certain to get one, but you cant even be sure of when you'll get it anymore.
and it's even worse for people that dont have preorder, you got to wait in front of stores like wal-mart and target like you're on a stake out, with a good chance that you wont even get one.
my question is.... is it even worth it to preorder anymore if the odds of you getting one is almost as bad as someone without one.
i'm strongly considering when i get a ps3, not even preordering it, and just using my connections to get it
