News body:

People from xbox-scene.com forums are reporting various crash cases of their brand-new Xbox360. No matter they play games or even try to boot the console, it might crash. The console either gave a mysterious error code, or just freeze. Users from TeamXbox are also experiencing the same situation.

Well, we don't know what has led to all this, but think of the OS which the console is using... crash might just be a normal thing.

Mine crashes about 10 minutes into any xbox 360 game. It just freezes... no red lights or anything... it just freezes. My call of dudty 2 does it and that downloadable kameo demo does. Halo 2 doesnt though... yet....

Not being able to purchase one on launch was a good thing in the end. I'm glad I'm not having problems with my new console, I would be so dissapointed. All this talk and after seeing alot of gameplay from various games (I know these games are the first batch and will get way better) Ive gotten over the hype of a new console. Im glad in a way because I almost got caught up in it all and shelled out 680$ for premium and a wireless controller. As long as the ps3 isnt going to come out late next year I think I'll be able to hold off on the 360 until a nice price drop.

In related news, the CEO of Sony smiled today, for the first time since the xBox 360's launch. The CEO of Nintendo was oblivious as always to this news stating that Nintendo doesn't care about a "console war".

This is why I'm never an "early adopter" of new technology like that. I'd rather let you sucke...ummm...people find the flaws first.

my thoughts exactly its sometimes good to look at the glass half full
It would be less trouble just not to get one in the first place
I was bouncing off the walls sunday and monday when i found out i would get the console and when tuesday rolled around i missed my chance but the excitement of the console has worn off

So after 3 months mine died. Looks like most others with the vertical dashes on the screen. OR the screen just goes blank. Happened right after I started playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warrior.....hope it is not the upgrade that had to be added to the console to run the game.

Many of the cases of these freezes have been solved by making sure that your hard drive is seated correctly and is not prone to shifting. Many of them have been known to wiggle loose over long periods of time and thus, causing random freezeups.

If you have problems and you have a HDD make sure its in all the way and put a piece of scotch tape on it to try and stop it from wiggling loose.

How could it wiggle lose if the Xbox360 isnt moving and the control is wireless? and dosent have like a little lock thing that makes it so u can only take it out a certain way?

you do know that hard drives do this thing, it's called, uh, spinning?

You'd be surprised at how much these guys can move, and the clip isn't that big.

i mean, it doesnt spin to the point that it will move.. but then again its placed in a way that it couldnt move anyway :P

These guys are only attached by 1 plastic clip.

Yea mine started acting up after I downloaded the recent update. I called up customer support and they'll be sending me a box to send it in for repairs soon.

Like i've said, Microsoft had the games to be the best, but they f'ed it up.

Well the games rock. Its just the system that has bugs. After Microsoft finally works out the kinks then it'll be a great system. Its just my luck that my system started bugging out after GRAW came out. Must be some kind of conspiracy.

i thik it's tha moore guy who is bad luck.

he made a mess with dreamcast and since he is here there has been alot of bad luck.

maybe if ms fires him everything will get better.

Defintely... Peter Moore has been blamed by many Dreamcast fans for basically sabootaging the Dreamcast.

I hate him for that very reason...

nah, the psone is better then the DC. It didn't matter what Sega did they couldn't save their consoles. The Gamegear failed and the SNES outsold the Genesis, plus the psx ownd the Saturn. So Sega was always losing with their consoles. With MS coming in and dvd drives in the ps2. Sega was doomed. The DC was comparible with PS2 but that dvd drive and the PS hype was more then enough to Kill anything. Thats why it was a good thing ms launch the xbox last. The Sony hype was dieing down.

All the early handhelds failed, the only one to make a success was the Gameboy. All the others were trying to do colour screens and such and the battery tech wasn't there yet.

plus the psx ownd the Saturn.

Agreed, but not when it first came out. They made it overcomplicated to program for and only fist party developers could exploit it's potential. Some absolute calssics came out for the Saturn, Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, Sega Rally, ETC.

So Sega was always losing with their consoles.

It basically comes down to the fact they never had the money to advertise properly and when they did spend money they made bad decisions (Like when they sponsored Arsenal football club and then killed the Dreamcast halfway through the season so they were advertising a console you could not buy!!)

This is also the main reason it failed :P

They could have made it ABIT harder on people if they had actually used the 1 gig that was available on their discs, but noooo they had to make all their games fit on a cd-r....

oh well, I like it too, it was a great machine...
