I was thinking, based on the fact that Many many XBOX's got resold for the die hards, In fact I think the news article about it said that 40% were resold (Which seems ridiculously high) But I will work with that number as a good benchmark
Now the #'s sold in Canada were 32,100 for November, Which means 12,840 were RESOLD on ebay.
Which leaves 19260 Sold To First time owners.
Now considering the same % of people in the states purchased the XBOX 360, compared with # of People in Canada (Because the economies are basically the same, (I'll ignore the fact the american $ is worth slightly more, for simplicity sake))
Therefore The states population is 293 Million
Canada's is 32 Million (2004 statistics)
So Roughly 11% were sold to Canadian Buyers, And 89% were sold to American buyers (We will assume die hards from outside of the Continent don't buy any, as their impact would be negligable)
Therefore of just the canadian resold consoles 11427 Were resold to the states (89% of 12840)
Which leaves 1413 Of that 40% staying in Canada.
THEREFORE (19260 + 1413) 20673 Left in Canada
Which would explain the approximate Spending on software and accessories (about 100$ per console) (21 Million / 20673 = roughly 100$ each person, not counting exported software bundled together)
So those statistics can be a little bit misleading, in this case by close to 35%
And even assuming that 40% is an overexxageration (of resold consoles)
at 20% (half of that) Is still about 24,800 which Makes it about 20% off
Food for thought
