The Typing Of The Dead is where it's at
I don't believe the 360 will fail, not at all, Microsoft has too much money to take the PR hit on dropping out early, And being that their software departments for PC's rakes them in soo much money, Its not like they really are dependant on the revenue or success of this system.
I will guess, that if this console does poorly, and looks as if it will stay that way, Microsoft will release a new console, One with "bigger better graphics" because of new technology, And then become the new "hot thing" Until they finally have enough market share to make money off of
In fact other than possibly scaring away developers and fans that would be the smart thing to do, And considering their record with the original XBOX, it seems they have done just that.
So we will see if round 2 for them fares any better, And if not I would expect a new system from them in probably 3-4 years (I guess 5 years was too long for them to wait this time, which was approx the norm with old consoles)
microsoft will not fail, but i doubt they will be #1.
the prob is that most people are waiting for only one or two games. you don't see alot of people getting hyped up over the games. i hear more about th egraphics than the games.
me if i did get a 360 it would be only for ble dragon and lost oddysey.
but as is with the 360 they will not get alot of people unless they can sell to the japanese market b/c that is where alot of the best developers are.
and to dutch warrior, show to us where blur ray is loosing support. hd-dvd is what lost most of its support.
My dad told me that he saw this on the Channel 4 news last night at 11 PM.....they said that the Xbox 360 is expected to have a recall on a s&!t load of systems by the middle of next year....do you guys remember that recall that happened with the powercord of the original xbox? It like was lighting systems on fire.....so if there is a recall, it's going to be REALLY bad.
Its a choice to get a HDTV an expensive choice I was saying that If you spend 400 on one of the best CRT (regular tv) which would cost you 400 compared to 900 for it's HD Brother, the point im making its not like you need a HD tv to watch a dvd disk thats why it was accepted so much HD right now is a expensive decsion any way you look at it thats why I think the HD DVD thing wont be a big thing for more then a couple of yearsOriginally Posted by vecha
But don't forget, The system will be around for possibly 5 years, So HD does matter. Also its better to have the option. So HD is importantOriginally Posted by Robafella
360 will most definitely NOT end up like the Dreamcast. At least not while Microsoft is well...Microsoft. They've put WAY too much hype into it to pull out on it and they've got almost an infinite amount of funding to spend on it as well. Not too mention with promising titles looking to be released in the future. The 360, while starting out rocky, is on a smooth path to doing well this generation.
Depends on how big you want the tv to be. A 26-7 in HD TV is about 500 while you can get a 30+ in non HD for around 250. Now when you got up to 30+ in TV thats when the price almost doubles. For one of those its about 800+.Originally Posted by Robafella
How i see it is a TV should last you about 10 years. My old 27 in TV was from 96 or so and just recently broke. Lucky for me it had Composite inputs since back then RF was still largely used. Now this is the next gen and graphics are a big deal, plus TV is already availible in HD. If a TV is going to last you till 2015 or so. You want to plan for the future. Sure it costs more but you'll regret not getting HD since the picture quality is so much better.

As for the future of the 360, IMHO there is nothing to worry about. As a few people have already stated microsoft have an almost unlimited amount of cash at there disposal. If they can't out perform Sony they will just buy their way to the top lol. I must admit I was disapointed with some of the launch titles, many didn't seem next gen enough. But we need to remember that this is an early time for developers. I think over the next year or so developers will learn to optimise their code and push the 360 to its limits. Many of the big games that were suppose to make launch have been prosponed so that devs can optimise code. And many of these MIA games (oblivion, gears of war, ghost recon etc..) looked like being the best games in development. We have only seem a small amount of what the 360 can do. I've been an online gamer for many years on the PC, and must say that XBL is the best system I have ever used. Its so hard for microsoft to advertise XBL, you need to try it to get the true idea. Many people forget about the other things the 360 is capable of, media center and the possablity of tv over IP. There is going to healthy life for the console and i for one am going to enjoy the ride.
Another rumor, I believe Microsoft has said that the problems are actually LOWER than average problems on new, popular technological items.Originally Posted by zerocool23
Secondly, no one can say its only Halo this time around. Look what we've got again:
Another undisclosed Mistwalker game
Gears of War
Huxley (it actually looks really great)
Dead or Alive 4
Dead or Alive Cronus
Another Dead or Alive title I believe
Ninja Gaiden 2 (YES YES YES!)
KOTOR 3 (both rumored titles)
Armored Core 4
Ninenty Nine Nights
Splinter Cell 4
And finally Halo 3. Halo 3 is going to be a big seller but now look at all of these GREAT titles (I don't see any of these games getting under an 8.5 except MAYBE Armored Core 4, Chromehounds and POSSIBLY huxley, but I have high expectations for them but others may not), and tell me that there isn't something for almost every type of gamer this time around?
Edit: Oh and of course Fable 2, though I'm looking for Oblivion first.

Nope no music games for me
Xbox only had like 5, I guess the trend will continue
Nope they have the guy who made the rez and I think that new Guitar game making a game as well for 360. Music game for you!Originally Posted by ztype85
Eh I didn't like Rez and Harmonix isn't making anything for any next gen console yet.Originally Posted by hyakku
The majority of Bemani titles are going to be on PS3, as the majority of them have been on PS2 and PS1. Aside from DDR they only sell well in Japan, so putting them on Xbox360 would be a bad idea for Konami.
