Well killzone 2 has a undisclosed 2008 release date so dont think that matters much now anyway. PS3 line up(from now until the end of the year. 2008 doesnt even exist yet) is decent. Problem is the PS3 should have had a decent lineup months ago and Christmas time should of been when they killer apps MGS4 and killzone 2 should have been released but I guess we still have to play the waiting game.

I'm just saying that the price difference isn't very big now, and the PS3 is looking a lot better with a lot of new announced titles at E3. Microsoft didnt announce anything.

A $279.99, $379.99, and $429.99 price point would be great (Canadian prices).

The price isn't that high I only been working at subway for about 2 months now and i can buy both a 360 and ps3, I can get a Wii but a Wii is for kids

Its not that hard. 399 is good enough for me.

Why? That would be incredibly stupid of Microsoft to do. They will announce them at the own event, so that the spotlight is totally on them, makes sense to me.

I sort of agree with Adiuvo, but $50 off is better than $0 off. Don't complain about a price drop. At least they didn't do a bait and switch.

Saw this last night as well. I dont know about it being a for sure thing but this is more convincing than the original article that started this thread off.

I still think this is a stupid move by MS. Halo 3 will push the sales enought until they are ready to drop by $100. This drop doesnt have as big of an impact as a $100 drop would in a couple more months.

But I guess if the $30 drop of the psp helped, theres no reason this wont have an impact. Still waiting to hear from MS.

Exactly. Any price cut will help a console, even $20 probably. $50 will really help. Not as much as $100, but it will help.

halo 3 will sell the many 360's yes.
but halo 3 AND a price drop will sell more...now you can get a 360 and H3 for close to the same price the 360 used to be by itself...they aren't stupid they know what they are doing.

$50 may not seem like much but to some it could be alot.

Well, it's basically confirmed. Here's from an e-mail from a Wal-Mart representitive:
