i agree. nintendo is still using 5 year old hardware. the Wii has pathetic graphics, and barely any games worth playing. Theres Twilight Princess, and thats about it. Maybe RE4 if u havnt already played it. The only thing next-gen about it is the controller.

How could letting the consumer decide what they need possibly be bad? 394 of the original Xbox titles are now compatible with the 360. Most games that aren't compatible are just crap games that no one is going to want to play anyway. Now that the PS3 is going to emulation for backwards compatibility I see no problem with comparing the two.

Once that product is gone from the retailer shelves, then we're back to a $599 SKU only, so it's not like we have a two-price strategy in the US market. We found out very early on how consumers react to having just one SKU as opposed to two."

Because they need a HDD for other features on the 360 than BC. Sony just offers it no matter what. Even with the software emulation the PS3 is still more compatable with ps2 games and is 100% compatable with PS1.

By "$599 SKU" he may have just been calling it that instead of "80GB SKU" There is still quite a few 60GB out there, probably enough to last until the end of the year. By then another price drop could be more "doable". Also, the fact that Motorstorm being bundled in should tell you that it's there just to make the $100 increase more reasonable. They will remove the game and the cost will be the same as the 60GB is now. (my opinion)

Precisely, the Elite and not the one I was talking about and even the Elite has been reported to fail due to RROD. I was referring to the reworked model, which is probably soon to hit stores but it will take a while to weed out all the unstable ones. I realize not all are going to lockup from RROD. This is as far as I will debate this issue in this thread.

Word going around is that Canada's price drop is by $100, for the premium at least. A Zellers employee (@GAF) states that he's seen the Aug. 11th/17th flyer and it shows the Premium bundled with forza 2 for $399. I still want to know what the Elite is being dropped too, up here.

I haven't seen one since they sold out after the intial release. Future Shop had a lot for a few weeks, than BAM.... gone.

Future Shop better give me back my $100 !! I hope its true that they will give you the difference in price if it is dropped within 30 days of purchase, cuz I could do alot with $100

Its been annouced on G4tv on attack of the show...its been on it like crazy... I believe the elite is going for 430, the pro 350, and core 250 in the U.S. But thats just what i have gathered but I will find a Link on their page and put it up

As of Wednesday the Elite will be $449, the Halo Limited Edition Xbox 360 (when it hits) will be $399, the standard will be $349 and the core will be $279.
