New Dashboard Update? 08/07/2007

I just turned on my 360 to get welcomed by a screen telling me to update to a new Dashboard.

Just wondering if anyone else is getting this update? Also, anyone know what's new about it? I can't seem to find anything new yet.

I updated. I can't see any difference. It told me to go to xbox.com/support but there was nothing there.

What’s in this update? The only thing this minor release will do is prepare your Xbox 360 for the wireless guitars that are being released in a few months.
No new features beyond this wireless support are included in this update. As usual, we’ve got some new features planned for later this year as part of our biannual release cycle.

I went onto the official Xbox forums and looked around, it's for the wireless Guitars that are coming out in a bit. (For GHIII and Rock Band I'm guessing)

That kinda sucks, I was hoping that it'd add some AWESOME feature, even though I can't think of anything that the 360 needs, I love this machine. :P One thing I'd fix is under the games, I'd make it not show the demos, like for right now, when you compare games it also shows all the demos both users have played. It should just show the games you actually have/have achievements for.

I just restarted my Xbox 360, and it had the update.

What they need to add, is the ability to check you downloads without having to have your controller on.

Very minor but I like turning off the controller and leaving the interface so I can see how my downloads are doing, during commercials.

Id advise you to get the media center remote well worth it.

Uh, you can. Go to marketplace, then active downloads. Then just keep it on that screen and go to it during commercials.

It won't stay at that screen if you turn off the controller. I guess you could just yank the batt pack each time you want to turn it off.

I may get the remote, I'm guessing it shuts off after like 3 mintues or so?

The controller will shut itself off after a set amount of time.

That's sweet then, I guess the same amount of time it takes for the screensaver to kick in.

Agreed.

It makes moving around the dash much easier. Especially if you're just turning on to check downloads/see whats new on marketplace.
