Default Halo 3 two new weapons revealed!

As today marks my day of boredom! I will start writing news articles...

Many of you who had Halo 1 and possible two wanted something to burn people... Well now no fear because today Bungie announced the Halo 3 flamethrower Named : M7057 / Defoliant Projector

Pics:

Specs/ Info

M7057 / Defoliant Projector
Official Designation: M7057/DP
Length (o/a): 116.8 cm (46 in.)
Weight (empty): 45.8 kg (101 lbs)
Weight (loaded): 55.5 kg (122.5 lbs)
Cartridge: Pyrosene-V
Max. effective range: 13.4 meters (44 ft)
Magazine capacity: 9 x three-second bursts

Unit Replacement Cost: cR. 1,520.00

Description:
The M7057/DP is a standard chemical flamethrower, which projects and ignites a stream of a volatile, semi-liquid fuel. Flamethrowers are cumbersome and relatively difficult to use (psychologically as well as mechanically).

Observations:
Referring to the M7057/DP as a weapon1 is a bit of a misnomer as the dee pea in its nomenclature indicate that it is a defoliant projector—to be used to rapidly clear away heavy foliage for in-theater construction projects and to destroy new or persistent growth from emplaced and/or hardened military assets. That having been said; despite being all but obsolete militarily its effectiveness as a psychological weapon is undeniable—unfortunately the psychological effect is a double-edged sword.

Notice: The flamethrower will not go through the bubble shield..

And the 2rd weapon

For all you Resistance players is an incidiary grenade which means that it will blow up and create fire !!!

Info:

Type-3 Antipersonnel / Antimateriel Incendiary Grenade
Official Designation: Type-3 AP/AM
Length (o/a): 30.5 cm (12 in.)
Weight : 3.6 kg (8 lbs)
Filler: Unknown
Killing radius: 3.4 meters (8 ft)

Wonder how the flamethrower will work as a killing machine.

In most games they suck.

Grenade looks cool though, I hope you can delay the explosion like with Resistance, traps will be great

The flame thrower was in Halo 1...

I know it was...

Same one as that as well. And it's not too good, but works well close up against guys in warthogs.

It was multiplayer only though if I remember right, so I guess Bungie didn't count it.

Hah! The elephant looks fricken badass. A moveable base that you drive that can hold all players on a map and a scorpion tank. KICKASS!

From Bungies weekly update

And exactly how much space is there in the Elephant?

Enough to fit all members of both teams, two Mongooses and a Scorpion. Seriously.

King of the Hill on the Elephant?

I must say, that's pretty epic, and I don't even like Halo.

Its pretty much the exact same model they made for Halo 2 ( Didn't make it in even though it was complete ).

I'm really unsure about it and the new nade.

I'm going to see/use it for myself.

EDIT. Wow, it's a 4kg grenade.

The flamethrower was in Halo before it was Halo.

It was in Halo PC.

It was 100% complete for Halo 2 but was cut.

So you're wrong.

I'm just saying it doesn't fit with all the other halo weapons. It doesn't look right...

I agree with you there.

It doesn't seem Haloish.

But I won't condemn it yet.

That elephant is definitely something to complain about. Im sure that thing can take like 20 rocket hits. It is literally invincible. Except i am sure it is slow and sluggish, and very easy to sabotage.

Hmm, the flamethrower could be "unlocked" with halo 1 hacks on the xbox....didn't work worth sh*t though.

I remember bungie saying they didn't want to implement a flamethrower unless if could ignite everything it touched in the environment, I wonder if they've done that now ?

Also, that elephant looks totatlly badass....I too wonder how the game mechanics are. You would think it should be slow, but then why would it hold a scorpion tank if the tank could just drive faster then it....perhaps it can hover ? Unless maybe vehicles will respawn in it, which would be killer.

Also, I am sure there is a weak spot on it....like if you manage to get inside and drop a nade near a fuel tank....or if it runs over two land mines...or a firebomb inside.

Plus, they must have HUUUUGE levels for that to be any type of real use.
Hmm, makes you wonder if they will also let you use the Scarab....

I'm also surprised no one has mentioned anything about "forge".

This is not really a full blown map-editor, there is no geometry or texture modification/creation. But it does allow multiple people to work inside a map and move spawn points of players, vehicles, weapons/equip. It also lets you place objects such as boxes and the exploding crates where ever you want and adjust their respawn times. You can also switch from editing to playing your map in real-time. This sounds really awesome, and hopefully does get updated with geometry modification. Even just having a tool that would allow you to "bulge" "raise" "lower" and "Drag" existing geometry that is already there....could be super awesome...

So, it's official that Halo 3 is going to never get borring.....too cool...

Oh yeah, and some further reading, the elephant is indestructable....so, yeah :P

Yeah but people will either not use it if it's too ghey, or like on the bungie blog, fill it with instant respawning "barrels" (i forget wtf they are called in halo) so that you can set off a chain reaction and have the elephant almost constantly bouncing around the map like a "satanic pinata"....that sounds fun...
