Halo 3-maker set to "return to its independent roots" with MS retaining a minority financial stake in the company.

They'll probably continue to develop for the Xbox 360, and they might make something completely different from an FPS.

They can doesn't mean they will. I doubt bungie would make any FPS for the Wii or PS3.

They probably want be to like S-E and other companies who make a bunch of great franchise rather be known as just the developer who made Halo. MS probably told them to start working on Halo 4 and they were like wtf? Lets us make what we want to make

Different studio are doing that.

Bungie are now free to make what ever they want but MS still gets first refusal on their ideas.

I dont care if Halo goes multiplatform because it will look play and feel better on 360 and future xbox controls anyways since Xbox is a Fps system (hehe)

you never know. if they made halo 4 for the wii and had as good as controls as metroid prime 3 did then i can see you on your xbox getting owned by people.

... WTF?! I'm a fanboy?! Anyways, Bungie can't make money by just developing for one specific system. They need to expand. Clinging onto a billionaire (most likely trillionaire) company like Microsoft isn't going to help them.

Its not like Halo 3 made $170 million in one day or anything.

Face it Ps3 Fanboy, you're never gonna get Halo on a Sony console unless the numbers are like at 12 million sales at least... That will never happen because ps3 fails... And i had to find that out the hard way =/

Halo 3 doubled 360 console sales and a hundred thousand people joined Xbox live just for Halo 3.

I would never consider Halo 3 as the greatest game ever but the amount of money it made and the popularity is has is ridiculous. Far exceding then any game ever and I doubt any game will even come close.

Bungie wouldn't have gotten the amount of sales of Halo 3, it was microsofts marketing that pushed that. Why would bungie leave the best publisher in the world?
