Default Microsoft mocking PS3 HOME?!

Quote:
Daniel Schiappa, general manager of strategy for Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division, the unit responsible for Xbox and Zune, told attendees at a virtual worlds conference in Austin that "by next year, you'll probably know more about why I'm up here."

Austin360.com reports that later Schiappa hinted in an interview that Microsoft is considering launching some sort of virtual world offering that would span across its gaming, PC and mobile device offerings. Schiappa said that most likely, any foray by Microsoft into the world of avatars or social networking would begin with PCs, then move across Xbox and finally into its mobile phone business.
Ooh, on the minute news from me, D:

Not surprised, but it could be something for Vista.

For some reason I can't imagine them being serious about this.

It just doesn't fit MS. Probably would be filled with tons of ads.

I don't know, it just seems weird that they would make something like this. I don't really have a reason

If they do end up making it, I'm positive they would charge for it and it wouldn't be included with XBL.

I don't know why they would consider this... XBL already does all the important stuff that will only be bringing the PS3 up to speed... Things like seeing what you're friends are playing, and being able to join them.

I dont think MS would do something like this...and as Adiuvo said, Ads EVERYWHERE.

It could go well with Live though.

Yeah, if you think MS's "Home" would have ads, you don't think Sony's FREE Home wouldn't? You're insane. You wont be able to walk 3 feet with out seeing a Trailer for Spider-man 3 playing on a screen somewhere.

Sony would have to put ads on Home. If there are sponsors that support Home into making it free, then there would HAVE to be ads. Sponsors don't give money and expect nothing in return.

Besides, I like the simple "look at what for friends are playing and join them" deal. Instead of walking around for 3 hours trying to find my buddies to play with.

Clearly you've never played on a PS3. It has the buddy list same as XBL. If your friend is playing a game that you also own you can load that game and then join their game (providing it's one that can be joined).

Home will be an extension of this.

I have played a ps3, just not online. Therefore, you have disproved my point
