Wow, you're finally starting to understand. Sure, its generally Hardcore gamers at the moment, but they're trying to attract the more casual gamers, and this is a good way.

I still don't see how the amount of time it takes to develop these things is even relevant. The 360 has been out for 2 years, and the demand for certain features have been around even longer.

Macca, you should just give up this argument right now. FoF and profiles aren't going to do sh*t for the casual market. Casual gamers like Mario and waggle, not Facebook like applications that you have to pay $350 to use.

The best feature from this update is DivX. XBox originals is pointless really. Why DL the game using up hard drive space, when I can walk a couple blocks to the closest store, and buy the same game for $10 or less? Plus I also have the ability to sell it again or lend it to my friends.

Microsoft knows that users want 16:10 support, and Clan support. There is no reason, no technical bull**** that gives them a valid excuse for not listening to their paying customers.

They can, I bet they're working on a clan system, but it's probably not ready. It's going to take big backend changes for this to happen. I'd say it will come with the Friends list increase.

Microsoft doesn't have a Mario though, they're trying on that front with things like Viva and Banjo.

DivX is hot, and I'll purchase Xbox Originals, as long as they get some good titles.

I do agree however that they ****ed up on the 16:10 support.

You have to remember though, this isn't just an Xbox Live update, it's something to increase the feature set of the console. Silver users can get this too remember.

Here at QJ, most of us are so much into our gaming, that we chat on forums about it. I know of thirty xbox 360 owners who are as much into gaming, as they are into their myspaces and facebooks. The fact is, Microsoft doesn't have to give you what you want till they see fit, because there's no way you're going to trade in your 360 because it's missing minor firmware features.

Consider the 3,062 daily users of the Facebook xbox live application, and over 35k that have it currently installed.

This makes sense. If you knowingly bought the 360 without many of the features it has today, and speculated that M$ would get their ass in gear for USEFUL new features, I guess you owe it to yourself to admit that mistake.

People just have to be patient. Not every service you buy is the most perfect. Give the devs a break. They know we want clan support. They know we want 18:10 support. They just need time, i suppose. Complaining about it is not going to make it any better.

It's been two years since the Xbox 360 came out, so they've had pleanty of time to work on it... And the two best online Multiplayer games weren't out at the time. Out side of Gears of War, online gaming on the 360 has been pretty pathetic, so it was never really needed before.

Did you know our system update package is only 7MB in size? Or that the entire 360 O/S resides on a tiny 16MB filesystem and when running it is only given 32MB of system memory?

Sure, I could use gamebattles, but Clan Support would be so much more conveinient. For example, I'm trying to join a clan that has upwards of 25 people. Now, I'm going to have to add 25 people to my friends list, with no organization, so I'll just have a huge list of people, some in my clan, some not. and, of course, if I left that clan, there would be the need to remove all those people from my friends list.

Also add in the fact that Gamebattles doesn't allow you to know when people are playing on their Xbox (you know, the whole point of your friends list). There is just no reason it shouldn't be there. An extra tab that says "Clan" would be cake... You know, for anybody not named Microsoft, those lazy motherfu*kers...

Dude, I used to say that too, but with this update, theirs just too many awesome features coming to call them lazy. They've done a fine job, and deserve credit. This is hands down the biggest update yet.

Outside of Divx support, which should have been there in the first place, but wasn't there because they tried they're damnedest to force their own proprietary formats on us, and didn't want competition from a clearly superior format, is the only good feature they added...

Oh gee, now I can pay $15 dollars to play 4 year old games that may or may not have slowdown and glitches? I can't f*cking wait! Now I can see my friends list of my friends? Oh yeah, because getting invites from people who's names you've never even seen is what we definitely needed. And now I have a place where I can have a 1000 word profile about myself? Because that's totally not something that Facebook or Myspace does one-hundred times better.
