I couldn't care less really. But I've got a PS3. This will definitely benefit any fanboys tho that refuse to get a PS3.

I just love the fact that if they do make a Bluray addon that they're helping Sony out.

Microsoft receives license money from Blu Ray too.B oth Blu-ray and HD-DVD video use AVC-1, which is Microsoft's codec.

This is actually great news... If it's true, I may just sell my PS3, buy this, and buy a Wii.

As of now, the only thing I use my PS3 for is a Blu-Ray player.

If they do release it, I hope they make a black one.

Nevada was informing me earlier that the 360's USB is incapable of high-bandwidth speeds, aka BluRay can not be used on it (requires a higher bandwidth speed than the HD-DVD attachment).

To put simply in his own words:

The longer they delay, the more PS3's are sold and the less likely it will go multiplatform. TimeSplitters 4 will be multiplatform tho. Unless this Bluray success makes Sony a lot of money and they can buy TS4's exclusivity (is that a word?).

I'm sure MS can't have rewritten the USB 2.0 standard for the 360. So if it has USB 2.0 ports then an Bluray USB drive is possible.

Pc have high speed usb 2.0 ports and so does the 360.... SO there is going to be one for pc and for the 360.....

But it not all that cheap..

Also keep in mind that
A Hi-Speed (2.0) rate of 480 Mbit/s (60 MB/s). and from the datasheet of the drive it only needs 4.5MB/s it very possible..

I'm not sure. I don't know how much revenue the gaming devision will see if Blu Ray really takes off.

I doubt it will happen seeing as how Microsoft has said many times that they feel the future of HD content delivery is in download services like Xbox Live Marketplace. Either way I will never buy one if they do make it.

Hopefully its true so I can rid of my PS3. I just use it to play Blu-Ray movies anyways since thats all its good for. Maybe I can sell it for like 200 or 250 and buy the add-on with that money?
