Well you all reamber that building in Japan with the big Xbox logo on here is the new on what it is going to be. Will the same come for the NY? brought to you buy teamxbox.com
Along with the recently announced launch date and price of the Xbox 360 in Japan, one of the more interesting items to come out of today's Microsoft TGS Press Conference was information related to the opening of an Xbox 360 Lounge this November in one of Tokyo's busiest retail areas, Omote Sando. A few slides showed the current construction site with a huge Xbox 360 logo drape covering it, along with concept renderings of the building, indoor and out.
Microsoft is really pushing the concept of the Xbox 360 being a home, high-definition experience. The Xbox 360 Lounge will feature a number of different living room-like sections that replicate the home experience, complete with high-definition televisions and 5.1 home theater systems.
Microsoft realizes that in order for the Xbox 360 to succeed in Japan, that it needs public venues to demonstrate the games and other features of the console. Aside from conventions, like TGS, opportunities for the public to play the Xbox 360 are limited. With the Xbox 360 Lounge, Microsoft hopes to have the same success as Apple has experienced with it's retail stores.
Rumor has it that the United States will see a similar Xbox 360 Lounge to open in New York City, but this is unconfirmed.
Look for more information and images of the Xbox 360 Lounge as they become available.
