i'd rather not, they said the're only selling bundled systems, and now circuit city will be the most crowded place ever, because people just have to get it a little early. i'll pass

there is still no confirmation this is thei coming friday. it might be black friday ya know. there isnt a date on that site taht i remember seeing.

No this is not true. There was a post on the xbox forums explaining the situation. circuit city is actualy only taking preorders and they will be shipped to arrive at your house on the 22nd so honestly don't hold your breath guys.

Whoa whoa whoa, what’s going on here? Circuit City’s website has promised that Xbox 360 units will be avaliable at 2pm ET this Friday. That’s a good 3.5 days (82 hours) ahead of schedule.

Better call in sick to work on Friday if you intend to snag one, though, because that line will be forming on Thursday at some locations. Also, be prepared to shell out more than you may have budgeted, as Circuit City will only be selling systems bundled with games.

Of course it’s entirely possible that Circuit City’s web team has just messed up with their updates of two separate pages (1, 2). We’ve seen bigger blunders, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Update: more details. According to a Circuit City customer service rep we just spoke to when we called 1-800-843-2489, every physical Circuit City location will be selling the console this Friday at 2pm ET. Just to be sure, we called again and spoke to a second rep at 1-800-843-2489: “Yes, it will be available this Friday at 2pm ET online as well as at our stores.”

I havent heard anything about this, and i WORK at circuit city. The consoles are in the back stockroom, but they havent been touched. We only put the games out for sale. unless someone knows something i dont, i wouldnt hold your breath on this one guys. If it is true, i will ask my manager first thing in the morning when i go into work.

well they say that none of the circuit city knows this maybe you guys that work at CC will get a call or something to sell them that day maybe thats why none of the CC knows this cause they dont want no one to find out and having people rush in to the stores like animals cause if its true which i dont think it is... i dont think they would let even the managers know about it til that day or the day before or somethin..even if they do sell it on friday ill go in the morning just to make sure cause i would like to get the console early or take any preorders since no other stores take preorders and so i wont have to be camping or running around town looking for one and if i do look go around town looking for one by the time im in the road going somewhere they'll be S**T loads of people AND ALL GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is exactly what is going to happen. I just spoke with my manager today. That is just to alleviate the hassle of a rush into the stores.
