7. Backward Compatibility - it sucks but who cares you buy a console for new games not year old games

That helped, im feeling better about getting the 360 now. Now im seeing all the good reasons aside from perfect dark and kameo (both games i was waiting for for gamecube but got screwed on).

those are the crappiest reasons to buy a 360.

3 points deal with xbox live and not everyone will be able to connect, or want to.

launch line up and backwards compatible. now there is inspiration.

the launch games are not all that good and they even say that there are no real games till later next year. even still not all the games are backwards compatible and you have to have a patch for it. i don't want to have to wait to play my old games if i traded in my xbox to get this.

very small par5t of that is right. the fanboy fodder part. the reasons are superior part is a laugh.

also the fact that they are having faulty machines straight off the line thath they claim go through rigorus testing.

and don't compare this to any other machine, no other machine to date had faults three minutes into plugging the sucker up and palying it. there are these cases, of it not working straight from the box.

sawy what you will, but the only reason i wish i had gotten a pre order, is to put it up on ebay.

that is one point they should have added. "on ebay if not satisfied with your 360, you can turn around and make thousands off of it."

Ya the psp, some wont turn on, dead pixel, broken umd drive. Any console can be defective and some will. PS2 had a ton of defects with launch models as did the orignal xbox.

i have not heard of any case of any psp that would not turn on when bought, or a broken drive.

show me somewhere where that is said.

the drive was if you jerked the thing in a certain way the drive will open.

dead pixles are a given since lcd's have that prob.

and i should not have said any other machine i should have said console, but even then that is vague.

but it is still that microsoft said that they test each one before they ship them off. if they did test this would have not happen. that or some lame person that works at the plant is doing something wrong.

microsoft better hope that they get this rectified with next shipment.

No niether the orignal controllers or the controller s are compatible but this new controller rocks. its about the size of an s with the perfect shape of the duke excpet its more smooth.

Ps2...the problem with the laser...if you want...i COULD dig for the link to where it shows the law suit...but i hope you'll take your word for it(but if you REALLY want the proof i can get it)

but anyway..it was about many people not being able to load up games...this was on the ps2 big version

the slim version had major probs with their power pack thingy(don't belive there was a lawsuit here..just a recall of ALOT of power packs)

so no surpise this console launch has had probs since the ps2 had major ones...as technology grows...problems rise..

remember to let your 360 rest...i haven't had any probs...but i ahven't been palying 6-24 hours streight either...

Okay, thanks for the help. Guess I'm selling the x-box and all of my controllers too :icon_smil Then X-box 360 will be mine. I can't wait for Halo 3. Sony's gonna have a hell of a time competing with it.

Oh they're screwed. Not trying to be a fanboy, but without live theyre gone. You have voice chat anywhere as long as your one live, in a game story mode, in multiplay, downloading a free demo, in arcade, or even loading a game. Did i mention free demos like kameo and nfs. Then trailers, streaming music.

Is that an article or just an add sponsored by Microsoft. The majority of reasons are dubious at best. As far as i'm concerned the 360 has three major seeling points:

1. It's available now (if i want to play next gen games the 360 is the only possible console i can buy. it's either a 360 or a PC).

2. Live (i thnik we all realise how good live is)

3. Games (this is currently my sticking point, the games although good aren't great, maybe when 1 or 2 killer apps are realeased i'll finally buy a 360).

I have to agree there, live is a HUGE (and i do mean huge) part of why im getting one. Im hoping the rating system on there comes through, because id rather not play with alot of the douches on xbox live.

you can't base the idea of one system killing another just b/c of the online.

yea more people are getting online, but not so much it will kill off sales of the ps3.

there are millions of people that do not play games online and wont.

people act like every gamer is going to connect.

its a key for some but not everyone.

Actually, almost everyone will agree that Online is an INCREDIBLY huge part of next gen. What good is all the pretty graphics without being able to enjoy them with other players around the world and competeing to be the best? Single player can only be so fun, multiplayer creates ENDLESS possiblities, and instead of having my screen split into 7 different screens (I'm still trying to figure out what sony is trying to do with seven controllers) or even if I just wanna play co op on PDZ I just hop on live and grab a friend. It makes you FEEL like you are in the game, especially communicating with a friend over a headset (makes me feel like I'm in the future

).

That doesnt sound like a lot but damn is it cool. Can you imagine pc games without online? sure you have the old games but even know the offline games have online DLC. Sony is in big trouble without an online system. I hope they take the time to rework their entire dash and games to online. But they most likely won't. If PS3 doesnt have online i won't get it. MGS and GTA will most likely come out for both systems, and the xbox will have more rpgs then before.

I'm sure Sony have realised there error in not setting up a dedicated online service. News about the PS3 seems to suggest it's going to have online functionality, it just depends whether Sony release a product similar to live to allow gamers to communicate easier.
