Dude, do you honestly think Microsoft will allow for there to be no Xbox360s before Christmas. It would be utterly retarded for that to be the case. The people on eBay are making more profit than Microsoft.

I'm sorry I'm not willing to lose a valuable day of school for a console system. I would rather not be called a "true gamer" just because I wasn't anticipating the launch of Xbox360 as much as you. I would assume that a "true gamer" is one that is actually good at videogames (me), not one that camps outside of their local electronic store to pick one up. Anyone can wait outside for a system, but not everyone can be good at a videogame.

If I was aware that the systems were going to become this rare, I would have arranged someone to pick one up for me.

so a true gamer is one who waits outside for a system. I would think a true gamer would be one who is skilled even while playing newer games.

Ok, but apparently one day of school is more valuable to me than sitting outside of a line for 10 hours. I could have done that and still made it in time for school, but I would have been unmotivated to go due to the presence of a new Xbox360, and I would have been way too tired.

Why cause people, smart people, like me who waited in line and got screwed ,will spend their money elsewhere and wait for ps3. It aint like most kids have 400 bucks plus to shell out all the time. I sure dont. After playing the 360 demos in stores I wasnt impressed. I am impressed by sonys demos they have been showing, now thats next generation. The xbox 360 wont even play high def movies, ha ha, which is the future of dvds. Watch and see bill gates have to shell out some of those billions to keep the 360's head above water !! HA HA HA.

Ok I meant trailers not demos. Just seen the first trailer today of metal gear solid 4 on xplay. Im still slobering. The people at sony now know what microsoft has and believe me they will make the ps3 twice as powerful as the 360.

Yes i have seen the DOA commercials. They do nothing other then remind me that microsoft, and gamestop me and a lot of others last tuesday.

DoA is one of the most impressive series on xbox, graphically. Still, I'd say doa4 was rushed and not really a big leap over doau. Smoother, sure, but not much else. The first time I saw the first trailer, I wasn't sure it wasn't just doau graphics. That IS to doau's credit-it looked amazing-but I was maybe expecting a little more out of Team Ninja on the new one. For example, and this really stood out to me as odd on a next-gen system, The girls' hair, when not tied back still intersects their necks and shoulders... a lot. And yes, the graphics are smoother, but looking at them I'm under the impression that it's the same models from doau, just with high-res textures. Still, it is a launch title for a new hardware generation so I suppose it deserves some slack. I'll be interested to see Doa5, or Ninja Gaiden 2 once there's been more time to become more familiar with the hardware. However, I don't think it'll be enough to persuade me to buy a 360. At least not until after my PS3 is bought and paid for. Gameplay-wise, I never considered Doa to have all that much depth... though it is getting better-the counter system in doau was much better than doa3, but I don't think it should be necessary to memorize all the moves so you can counter them-I don't have that much time to dedicate to just any game. At least the series is still growing and improving.
Also, SS, I'd like to hear why you think PDZ=the best fps ever. I'm inclined to disagree, personally, but I only spent a couple of hours with it and have yet to try multi-player... well, I played some coop, but no deathmatch or anything.

Dixons are far and away the biggest chain of electronics stores in the UK yet my local store is not getting a single 360. If Microsoft don't hurry up and get more out there before Christmas then the time advantage they got over Sony counts for nothing. This shortage is beyond rediculous.

every system made between now and late january will be sold out nearly instantly. you guys can whine about how horrible M$ is once the competitors start showing things off. but honestly alot of you guys look like babies right now who have never been thru a launch before. i dont understand what the hell you guys want M$ to do exactly.

look, kid...you were told by the entire industry early this year that you NEED to pre-order the 360 if you hope to get it for x-mas. you were told again at gdc when first solid details arrived. you were told at the mtv showing and e3 and ove rthe summer and at tgs. over and over you were told to pre-order and to be snappy about it. M$ didnt screw anyone over. if you were realtively intelligent, youd have known this would happen. hell, i knew it'd sell out for years now, lol. they warned you over and over. dont blame them b/c their sales predictions are spot on.

This is spot on, you watch $ony delay the PS3 in the UK till about August then comes christmas again and the price war to gain market share and what do they do for you for getting one at launch.......

I got my original Xbox on launch in the UK and then $ony started a price war with the PS2 at christmas and the price dropped by £100. and what did M$ so for me........

Sent me an e-mail thanking me for being an early adopter and offering me choice of games and accessories and what I got came to about £150.

My brother-in-law got his PS2 in the September and what did $ony say when he asked if they were doing something similar.......TOUGH!! Thanks $ony.

$ony may have a great system in the PS3 but M$ certainly know a lot more about customer loyalty and service!

I was not stupid, I preordered with the biggest electronics chain in the country yet they aren't getting a single premium at their stores. This shortage is way more than it should be, either that or Dixons bothced up big time, which wouldn't surprise me.
